Rogers Video 2/40 on pre-played games

I posted this on RFD. might as well post it here.

I was just at my local Rogers Video and they had signs 2/40$ on all pre-played games. I'm not sure if it was just the store near here but it's worth a check. I asked them when the deal would end and the manager said tomorrow so I would hurry up. I imagine most stores are still cleared out from the 2/30 but it is worth a check.

I don't know why mine is. I think the manager just made a mistake or something. There wasn't anything worth getting there besides Moto GP 07 anyway.
 
Really pales in comparison to the 2/40, though if you get REALLY GOOD games (like, say, Bioshock and Metroid Prime 3) then it'll be worth it. ;)

They had Bioshock, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Lair, and others at my RV a few days ago... now only if they were there when I went today.:cry:
 
Someone cleaned my Rogers out. I just looked on craigslist(I always get used*****, kijiji and craigslist mixed up) and found most of the games I mentioned and Blue Dragon, warhawk, Madden 08, NCAA 08 along with one or two more
 
They took the signs down... I went back about an hour ago to pick up Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes and Moto GP 07 but they took the signs down.:cry:
 
Well now that we know this current 2/40 is a bust at least I can say this. Dunno if it's already common knowledge but it seems like their buy 2 $10 pp for $15 is a constantly running thing. One Rogers I go to once a blue moon always have signs up and the one I frequent I noticed the sign for it was put up. If you can benefit and don't know if they're doing it, just ask I guess. Can't hurt.

So I went to return the Bigs, was told I would have to pay the difference, the employee said to come back tomorrow when they would have the 2/40 and pay a 5$ difference instead of the 35$ difference. So I guess it's back on tomorrow. I'm going back to get Two Worlds, DW: Gundam and something else. They have Bioshock, Metroid and Blue Dragon but I got those a long time ago. Just as before, YKMV.

I went back to RV because my copy of the Bigs from there crapped out... huess what? They told me I couldn't return it without paying the difference... then they told me to go tomorrow because they would be having the 2 for 40 deal and I would only have to pay a 5 dollar difference. I'm going back tomorrow to get Two worlds tomorrow along with DW: Gundam and hopefully I'll find something else. Just as before, YMMV.

I got DW Gundam and Blue Dragon. They gave some crap about me exchanging the Bigs and told me I was lying. I guess it's because I'm a teenager but whatever. They wouldn't let me exchange the Bigs and 5$ for another game like the manager said yesterday. I'm kinda peeved off about that. I'll probably go pick up Two Worlds and something else later. Anyway, if anyone wants Blue Dragon I'm willing to trade or sell it. I'll probably trade it in in a couple days.

it's too bad they treat you like that because you're young. The guys at mine are great. They even went out of there way to get BioShock and Metroid for me today

They're not all like that. It's just 1 or 2 that seem to not like me, 1 of those two because I got to Ninja Gaiden Sigma before him. :D I saw Metroid and Bioshock today... too bad I already have 'em.
 
Pretty good run (got to a local RV while they were pulling):

Lair
BioShock
Medal of Honor: Airborne
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

If any Peggers are interested, this was at the Meadowood location and they still had copies of Lair and BioShock on the shelf when I left.

Also, this pull was mostly to wipe out the curent-gen games, so they will probably be more likely to pull out one of those games for you (GoW II?) if you asked them.
 
Rogers Video thing seems to be YMMV or maybe it starts tomorrow. I went to my Rogers Video and they had 8 copies of Bioshock, 4 copies of Metroid Prime 3, as well as a copy of Resident Evil 4 Wii and Tales of the World. However, no sale ;_; They also had 2 copies of Two Worlds, Lair, and Warhawk.

I'd have killed for Bioshock at $20. This was Surrey Central.

AGHH ;_; Bioshock.

Nice. I wish I had a bit more money. There were quite a few PS2 titles I would love for 20$. Persona 3 among them, I don't know why I didn't get that. I just wasn't expecting much rummaging through the PS2 games, I guess. Unfortunately I saw someone walk out with it when I got into the car.

picked up Lair, Ninja gaiden sigma, Metroid 3 and Forza (instead of bioshock, two worlds, blue dragon)
 
Metroid Prime 3, Mario Strikers, Blue Dragon, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma so far. Left BioShock x 2 and Two Worlds x 2, among a few other things (Darkness 360 only other good title)

Congrats. I'm glad you got a BioShock, you seemed to want it really bad!:applause:
 
Yeah, I wasn't interested at first but all the hype got to me XD Everyone just says it's so amazing and one of those "games you have to play" if you have any interest in games as an art form.

Also, it's similar to the Metroid Prime games in that it tells the story through the environment and I really liked that, so I'll check it out.

I might buy two more copies for two more friends. The clerk already asked me "Why two?" when I asked for two XD
