Rogers Video 2/40 on pre-played games

TtotheE

CAGiversary!
I posted this on RFD. might as well post it here.

I was just at my local Rogers Video and they had signs 2/40$ on all pre-played games. I'm not sure if it was just the store near here but it's worth a check. I asked them when the deal would end and the manager said tomorrow so I would hurry up. I imagine most stores are still cleared out from the 2/30 but it is worth a check.

[quote name='snowsquirrel']I bought this stuff from the hardware store for removing glue. $20 for a litre. Kind of a gelatinous transparent liquid with metaliic silver bits in it (though not gritty). I can't remember what I bought it for, or the name of it. I can look if anyone cares. Anyway, I used it to remove one of those stickers one time; I applied the goo, and when I went to rub, it rubbed a large chunk of plastic off, and instantly disolved the picture on the sleeve. In the bin with it.

Epic Failure?

Then created a hole to some game shop in Japan, where he could build a tram and grab all the free gaming goods from their backroom...

I'm bored BTW.

[quote name='snowsquirrel']Once I went to get a game from EB, and they only had the shelf copy. I asked for a discount. The manager said why 'game is new, never been played'. I said #1 it was for a gift (it wasn't), so what is the diff between that non-cellophane version and a used copy? #2 I hate that super-residue sticker you guys put on it. He said it just comes right off. I already wasn't going to get it, because of the cellophane issue, but just to see him squirm, I decided to let him eat his words. I said, if you can get that sticker off without gunk remaining, and without damaging the case, I'll buy it. 10 minutes later, as he was rubbing it with nail polish remover, I walked across the parking lot to Wally-Mart, and bought it.

Good for you!
I was in EB just last week and asked the manager when they would be getting rid of the terrible used game stickers (the US stores have new sticker that leaves zero residue). He said he hopes they never go away. He'd permanently glue the used stickers on to them if he could. His reason was some people try and return used games as new.

You should have expressed your surprise that people could return their games without receipt.

I've never had much of a problem with EB sealed games. The only times I get a new game there is usually if I pre-order. And if not, well, if they don't give me a sealed unit and say the gutted is new, I just say "I like my games sealed", they apologize, and I walk out.

Oak and 15th had this deal today. I asked the clerk how long it was for, and she said "um... maybe until next Tuesday?" Didn't matter to me: selection sucked.

deal appears to be done in the Peg now. so sad!

i managed to find another Bioshock and Pokemon Diamond that the clerk was going to let me pick up, but the computer was giving him a problem overriding the price!

I have three games from this and the last sale for anyone in the GVR.
- Pokemon Pearl Version - $25
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - $20
- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - $25

For local pick up at preferrably Metrotown Station, Surrey Central Station, or somewhere else along the skytrain line.

If anyone wants BioShock for $25 shipped they can have it. Though it has the RV sticker on the manual and some strange fading on the disc. (one half looks "duller" than the other half, on the data side) Still plays though.

Getting tired of Yank traders driving me into a long PM convo, only to tell me "Oh, sorry. Just noticed you were in Canada. KTHXBAI" several hours later.
