Romance of the Three Kingdoms V (Chinese Version) $14.90 at Play-Asia.com

i don't understand why these games are so popular. can anyone elaborate for me? oh btw, i have romance of the three kingdoms VI (Playstation 1) up for trade. lol

Me neither. Perhaps the fact that it's a strategy game which often requires brain power and hundred of hours of gameplay.

Romance V never came to US.Koei skipped 5 and made romance 6 for playstation one.Romance The Three Kingdom series is pretty fun game if your big stategy fan such as myself. The biggest downfall with Romance series is the same story and characters.Koei constantly reuse Zhang Fei,Guan Yu,Lu Bei,Cao Cao,Sun Quan,Lu Bu and others. The other big problem is load time. Most of time there is a lbig ag between battle.
Does anyone know a little bit about this particular Rot3K? I've barely even heard of this installment, unlike the others.
first of all, you NEED to be able to read chinese to play this game... this is a Chinese version, everything in the game is in chinese.

AND if you are a chinese speaker, there's a VERY VERY high chance that you heard about the 3-kingdoms before since it's like the most popular part of the Chinese history.

this is also the story Dynasty Warrior is based on. that's why the character names are the same and will NEVER change even if it's ROT3K- XVX

it's a strategy game that you control castles in China and develop troops and try to conquer the entire china

I used to play import Romance of the three kingdoms 5 on PSone, it's a damn great fun game, kept me playing nights and days to months and to year. The game is based on a novel, and the novel is based on the history. You don't change the characters when making a history game. And I never had experienced loading time problem with the game, what are you talking about?

Most of the other ROTK games are about 10-20 hours first playthrough. It really depends on how fast you pick up on the micromanagement and what difficulty level/scenario you choose.
