Rumor: 360 Haze is canceled

I can see why this is a good idea for the developers, if they're making a game for both systems they can't really tailor it for the PS3's greater spec, and 360 owners probably won't be that interested with all the other big-name FPS on the system.

But if it's PS3 exclusive they can take advantage of the higher spec/greater storage and as there aren't the HALOs and Bioshocks to compete with they'll be more chance of PS3 owners picking this up.

Gee another fucking war type game, how original. They change a few things call it something different but the game is just about the same as the one released last week. Game developers are really getting lazy.

What is that site and how does just grouping all the rumors into one article make it official?

Going to merge this one with the other article containing Haze PS3 exclusivity rumors.

Edit: Okay, you made the other thread too. You already reported this rumor once.

And the official stance as quoted in the article (that I'm guessing you wrote) is "The PC and 360 versions are not confirmed". C'mon, it's a timed exclusive at best.
PS3 REALLY needed this title
True.
this will most likely be its GotY contender.
Let's not get all carried away now.

And anyway, this is still all couched in weird PR-speak anyway. "A spokesperson said, 'The official statement on PC and Xbox 360 is that these platforms are not confirmed.'"

Yeeaahh ...

Guys, use common sense here.

Like this was going to sell with all the FPSes coming out this holiday season? Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 *ALONE* would have made this a discounted title in WEEKS/ sell like shit. It would be senseless for them to release this for the 360 this holiday season.

Now if they are going to release this next year when no other FPS are out? It will sell better.

Good move by Free Radical I'll be picking this up next year for the 360. Unlike other companies who tend to throw all their games in the mix of the holiday season they used their brain to figure out a delay would generate more sales.

Trust me on this one.
That was my one complaint with the TS series. It never took itself seriously, and, to me, that sorta hindered the single player (I prefer a deep, engaging single player mode, over a light-hearted, 'fun' one). The look and feel of the game made the game, as you said, feel like the Blitz of the FPS genre. I think the gameplay was just as good as any FPS, and multiplayer was superb (the game lacked in online too). I just felt the developers made a mistake when trying to make the TS series standout from the rest by giving it this overly vibrant, light-hearted experience. Thankfully both of these problems seem to have been remedied with Haze, and I am definitely looking forward to it.
I liked both Timesplitters 2 & 3 better than Halo 2. I liked it because it was light-hearted. Too many FPS's take themselves too serious. WW2, last humans, etc. Timesplitters is fun to play and I feel that Free Radical is a top notch FPS game developer. If Haze comes to the X360, I'll buy it, even if it isn't like Timesplitters.

P.S. I liked Second Sight also!

it could simply be a case of the xbox not being able to keep up with what they were trying to accomplish. and instead of putting out a halfassed game they decided against an xbox version. btw is this the game that had the guy using a weapon that looked like the weapon from krull? im probably one of the few here but wtf is so great about fps?to a certain extent theyre all kind of the same to me lots of shooting some jumping tons of corridors and then of course online vs play.

My thought is that Sony wanted another FPS this year, it's not supposed to directly compete with Halo, but they need a new FPS game to sell for the holiday shoppy season. Haze was it.

However, the game looks like it has quality, the latest videos all look very good, and the 4 player co-op is still a good feature.

On Ubisoft's side, Haze was developed on PS3 hardware first with the idea that they'd learn that system and then port it to the 360 and PC. Ubisoft wanted to release it this year, so instead of waiting for the 360 and PC port, they went ahead with an early release on the PS3.

Then Sony offers them money to keep it as an exclusive, maybe for a bit longer, maybe indefinitely, but it's a good idea for them to have some exclusive shooter with 4 player co-op for their lineup this holiday.

It doesn't have to compete with Halo in Sony's eyes, even though it inevitably will compete with it. Instead, it's a message to FPS fans out there that Sony isn't shirking the FPS genre. They're saying, "In the meantime, here's Haze to hold you over until we get Killzone 2 out."

Haze never looked like anything special to me. i probably would have picked it up in the bargin bin like i did with timesplitters future perfect, but it being a ps3 exclusive doesn't really matter to my future purchases.

360 doesn't need a HAZE right now.. its a game that probabl would be unappreciated on the 360. PS3 needs games, and people are hungry for games on PS3 so they'd probably sell more there.
