RUMOR: Suikoden VI for Wii
My first reaction was: Why does anyone need/want Suikoden on the Wii when it would likely be much better on any of the other systems, even the PS2.
*sigh*

I'll bite. Why?

I'm gonna guess that Zing will say something about Wii controls getting tacked on.

If this hypothetical future becomes a reality, I will point Zing to Fire Emblem 10, which didn't even use the pointer, let alone waggle.

I will then sit back happily, having derailed this thread on to the topic of Fire Emblem for the second time.

It's almost as if you have the most worthless superpower ever.

Its probably not possible on the other systems, except arguably PS2.

Its always been a low budget, not pushing the boundaries game. Under those circumstances an HD budget with low install base doesnt help matters.

PS2 has an install base advantage, but has the disadvantage of being on its way out, as opposed to being the new hot shit.

Wii has a power edge on the PS2, but not enough to make the budget cry.

The Sony brand loyalty of the series is irrelevant (see Monster Hunter). Its more like MARKETSHARE loyalty.

With Fire Emblem being any indication (here we go again...), just because waggle and pointing motion is available does not mean it has to be used. For a game like Suikoden, no system really holds an advantage for hosting the game other than marketshare. At most, I could see some Wiimote capabilities for the mini games but nothing beyond that.

Fire Emblem handled it quite nicely though I must admit, giving you the option to use the Wiimote OR a GameCube controller.

That aside, there's still various areas of the game that could be covered. Sindar, Highlands, Harmonia, Nameless Lands to name a few. Viki and Jeanne are still clouded in mystery. It's also possible that previous iterations could be visited in a later time (Grasslands, Dunan, Toran). The possibilities really are endless.
