Phantom Crash for the Xbox was great! Lots of custom mechs in arena style combat, which took place in huge bombed-out cities. Crazy Macross-style missile streams and Predator style cloaking were par for the course. Problem was it was made before Xbox Live was the thing. The online element is soooooo what this game needed to be an A title, and now it has it, PS2 style.

Like all the Sony beta tests, you must receive an invite via email from Sony. One of the best ways to make sure this happens is to sign up for the Playstation Underground, then in your preferences check the box that indicates you want to be considered as a beta tester. Do a search on the forums for a more detailed description, as this has been covered quite a bit.

The real catch, however, is that even if you do receive an invite email for a particular game you must be one of the first 5000 to register for it, or you still don't get in.

Just got my email and got in.

Too bad I sold my PS2 months ago. Guess I'll have to go over my brother's house to play.

Ouch. Stupid Sony! Let me beta! And I was just wondering, on the same screen where you check the box to beta test, have you guys registered your Network Adapter? I saw that I had not, and thought maybe they picked out people that had it registered. Or maybe they just don't like me, either way.
 
m_damore..there shouldnt be no servey. You should just have to fill in like your address and etc and then it would tell you that you could accepted, etc. So you might still have a chance.

this is only the 2nd invite i've gotten, and this is the 2nd time it has been full.

I just got in last night too. Don't know too much about the game yet, but I'll read through the previews of it. Good to see other CAGs get in though.
 
Yup in as well. If playing WoW with phatty has taught me anything its that he'll end up short and violent. Think about it.

It was probably more that there are 5000 slots.

I missed Crash N Burn due to the fact that there were only 2000 slots and I tried to register like 7 hours after the e-mail

And yes, I will be short and violent! :lol: (Although I am pissed that Blizzard removed Dwarven Mages from WOW).

you get an envelope from FedEx that contains a game in a paper sleeve and a plain instruction manual
 
Why can't I ever get in on these things?

I have broadband, have registered my NA, am a member of GAP, and have checked that box for betas.
 
Well Crash I have a suspicion it has alot to do with that damn sig of yours. The racoon haunts me in my dreams the swaying...the rocking...there is no hope for this world...

not being invited at all is better than receiving an invite and clicking it and finding out that during the... maybe 7 hours i was at school, all the positions were filled...

A delay? Already? This reeks of Smackdown vs. Raw except they don't even know when the beta will actually start!

The expected drop-date for all S.L.A.I. Phantom Crash beta kits is October 20, 2004.

To accommodate the delay in the shipment of the beta kits, the beta end date has been extended. The S.L.A.I. Phantom Crash public beta will now be ending as of midnight (Pacific Standard Time) on November 4, 2004.

I got an email for this a while ago. I would beta test, but I can't because PS2 online or Xbox Livw won't work at college, so I can't beta test this time.:( Well, I'll still probably get the game though.
