Any word on whether or not it's coming state side?
So far, a US release is just a rumor BUT since the DS is region free anyway, it shouldn't be an issue to release (conversion wise) so there won't be a need for gamesharks, etc. Here's the characters that are confirmed so far:

Monkey D. Luffy- One Piece

Uzumaki Naruto- Naruto

Uchiha Sasuke- Naruto

Rock Lee- Naruto

Son Goku- Dragon Ball Z

Assorted characters from BoBoBo-BoBoBoBo, Death Note, Ichigo 100%, Shaman King, and possibly Eyeshield 21

This game is supposed to play like Super Smash Bros. I would think it would be a good translation anyway since the company that did SSB are the ones doing this as well.

I had heard of this as well. Sounds really cool, because hey, who doesn't like SSB and anime mixed?

I'm still waiting for the One Piece fighting game to be released here. Hopefully, it is good, becuase I am a One Piece (manga wise) fan. Guess it's coming in September...
I am telling ya all that Berserk is really crazy anime, the only problem is they go up to episode 30, but the manga is oon volume 28. The main character Gats is probably one of the most hardcore guys around. The manga is extremely graphic in some parts so for some of you younger CAGs, you might want to get your parents permission first.

The Beserk dreamcast game is one of the coolest games around. Its too bad the gameplay wasn't as good as the presentation though.

Okay guys, it's time for me to start another anime. Nachzeher set me up with a TON of different titles. Help me pick which one to start next. (I only want one other, besides Naruto for now...)

I have:

One Piece
Inu-Yasha
Full Metal Panic
Full Metal Alchemist
Hikaru no Go
Detective Conan (whatever that's called)
Cowboy Bebop
Bleach
Beck

Ummm....pretty sure there were more, but I can't remember! Eh, that's a good enough list. Also, is FMA and FMP related? If so, which one do I start first?

What are you in the mood for? Action, Mystery, Board Game, Space, Pirates, Alchemists, Ghosts?

I like One Piece, Cowboy Bebop and Bleach. I know Karsh will recommend FMA. But they're all good choices. Do you have any preferences when it comes to anime types?

LOL

I'd say FMA or Bleach. Thyey're both awesome. Bleach gives off a very Naruto-ish vibe, even though it's entirely different. A lot of the characters seem to have counterparts. Or Inuyasha is good to watch. Though it'd be interesting to see if you have the entire show. Cause it'll make very little sense if you haven't watched from the beginning.

EDIT: I forgot to mention. FMA is ENTIRELY different from FMP. FMP is about robots. I fucking hate robots.

Pretty sure I have the entire series, for all of them. (Well, as far as they have ran, it was a lot of DVD's!)

As for recommendations, I am really open to any genre of anime. Anime is pretty new to me. I've only really watched DB/DBZ/DBGT (I know, I know...) and not much else.

Watch Detective Conan, it's a pretty good mystery anime where Jimmy, the lead character and popular teen detective, gets mysteriously attacked and forced to drink poison which turns him into a kid instead of killing him. Then he moves in with his girlfriend and her dad (a bad detective) and helps solve cases through his gadgets and careful manipulation. I enjoyed it when it was on AS, as it was a good change of pace from the other anime.

I'd say if you're looking for probably the best story wise, and actually caring for the characters, FMA is the best. I haven't seen them all, but FMA is one of the few anime I have ever watched that made me actually care for the characters. Unlike some shows (Naruto, Bleach to an extent, DBZ), FMA puts the story first, and it really shows. For pure action, like I said, Bleach is the way to go. It has the same style sort of as Naruto. Inuyasha is a very long commitment, being 167 episodes, with at least four movies. But it's worth it. I'm not a big fan of One Piece, but I've only seen the shitty FoxBox dub. Bebop is great, but be ready for a show that really has not overriding story besides the five or so episodes dealing with Vicious. Otherwise, it's a show that has no story connecting it. But it's still one of my favorite anime out there. I almost want to say skip Hikaru no Go. It's a great show, but it got cut off at episode 70-something. The manga is a better option if you want to go into this show. I'm not a fan of Case Closed. It was stupid if you ask me.

I know we mainly talk about anime series here but I kind of enjoy watching anime movies more. I just find it alot easier than getting sucked into a hundred episode series. Plus they're alot easier find since most movie rental places have a specific anime section now. Am I the minority on this?

I'm not a big fan of anime movies. I just can't get into them when I know that the world is done after an hour to two hours. I can't get engrossed in them. Just when I start to like the world, it ends. That's why I like anime series more.
I saw a few eps while it was on. It looked okay, although every episode basically led to the same thing...
Yeah, though it was more of "can you figure out who did it and how before Conan does?" There are some sick, twisted people that do some horrible things.

Though I don't rent anime movies  I do enjoy watching them because I don't have to have seen dozens of episodes to know what's going on and the Miyazi films I've watched, they look great and are pretty damn good. Though I also have some DBZ movies, too, which I've seen all of them, I think. I'll have to think about acquiring some that aren't from Miyazaki or Toriyama.

Yes, storywise, FMA is the way to go. It starts off like your normal run of the mill fantasy anime. Then it throws some comedy at you. Then the first time you see some professor do a grotesque and malicious thing (those who've seen the series know what I'm talkin' about) to a family member, you think, "dang, this anime's deeper than most!" and then you're hooked. All the way. Hook, line and sinker but I'll tell ya, you won't regret it every step of the way.

Rig, if you don't mind the robots, go for FMP. Besides, FMP doesn't play the giant mechs as much as other robot shows like Gundam. The mechs are just devices to move the plot along instead of being the centerpieces like they are in NGE or any of the Gundams.

Wasn't it supposed to come out sometime this month in Japan?

Anyways, there's a certain sense of finality and satisfaction from watching a movie. The good anime movies usually end in a way that closes all the loose ends and don't set themselves up for any type of continuation. Two movies that I've seen recently that I really liked were Tokyo Godfathers and Metropolis. I highly recommend them.

I thought the movie comes out on DVD this week? (Maybe next week?)

Ah, here it is from NarutoFan:

"The Naruto Movie will also be released on VHS/DVD/UMD (PSP) in one week and two days on the 28th of this month."

Haven't seen it either but my cousin in Japan (bigger FMA freak than me) told me that it wouldn't end definitively. He keeps up on all this info. He's also the guy that got me into anime in the 1st place. I'll email him tonight and ask him where he heard that.

If anybody cares, NarutoFan has the RAW of Naruto up, if any of you can speak Japanese. Well, or if you want to spoil the episode for yourselves...

I'll have DB's soon, but not in time to watch before I go to sleep. :(

EDIT: For some reason I'm still awake, so I guess I will go ahead and watch it.

Haha, I'm up as well (for no apparently good reason) so I guess I'll watch it as well.

Downloading 131 as we speak, should be done within the hour. I'll probably watch it tomorrow when I get the chance.

I bought some Naruto wall scrolls in a trade, which I'm hoping gets shipped tomorrow or so. The weird thing is that Shrike named us as being possibly interested in the Naruto stuff, which he has much more of.

Okay...This is gonna be a long post, but I just found a guy on my network at school that has a literal shit-ton of anime, and I'm trying to figure out what to try out. Here's the ones he has that I haven't looked at yet:

Beck
Chrno Crusade
DN Angel
Dual
Escaflowne
Gligamesh
GTO
Gundam Encode
Gundam Seed
Gundam ZZ
Gungrave
Kaze no Tani
Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
Legend of Zelda
Metropolis
New Dominion Tank Police
NGE
Now and Then, Here and There
Oh My Goddess!
Paranoia Agent
Record of the Lodoss War
s-CRY-ed
Tsukihime
Twelve Kingdoms
Yakitate Japan

s-CRY-ed I want to download, but the episodes are the dubbed version, so I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Beck - Rock band anime

Chrno Crusade - nun binds a devil to her to fight other devils. They share the same lifeline

DN Angel - 10-12 yr old boy is about to 'come of age'. When puberty starts for him, at night he transforms into the greatest thief in the world.

Dual - giant robots that are fighting in the city - but only one guy can see them. Turns out he can see into a parallel world where the robots exist but ppl do not

Escaflowne - convoluted storyline about a boy looking for his brother. Finds out he's a bad guy and must thwart his plans by using a giant dragonlike mech.

Gligamesh - weird final fantasy-ish mixed with Mad Max anime. Based off the story of the warrior Gilgamesh

GTO - who hasn't heard of GTO? Great Teacher Onizuka is about a former gang leader who wants to teach (but it's just to look at high school girls and flirt with them). Ends up having a room of deliquents and has to teach them life lessons.

Gundam Encode - giant robots

Gundam Seed - giant robots

Gundam ZZ - giant robots (really it gets REAL old seeing the 4086th version of Gundam)

Gungrave - John Woo style gun-fu with a touch of Universal Soldier

Kaze no Tani - translation: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Classic movie about a princess of a small nation trying to prevent war amongst the surrounding nations.

Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien - Love story about a boy who promises to be with a girl but she falls into a coma. He later falls in love with her best friend. A few years pass and suddenly the girl is out of her coma, thinking only a night has past. She's in for an unpleasant surprise.

Legend of Zelda - dunno if this is based off the old 90s cartoon or something I haven't seen.

Metropolis - story about a little girl android who may possess the power to destroy mankind. Different factions lie, cheat, steal, etc. to obtain her. She might have a relationship with the CEO of the biggest company.

New Dominion Tank Police - futuristic story of cops using tanks. Based off Masamune Shirow (of Ghost in the Shell fame) manga.

NGE - Neon Genesis Evangelion. Giant robots known as Angels used to fight aliens and other nations. Confusing ending.

Now and Then, Here and There - Mad Max dimension hopping anime. Boy thrown into alternate reality must help kids fight off child slavers.

Oh My Goddess! - Goddess comes to earth to destroy but falls in love instead. Wacky hijinks ensue.

Paranoia Agent - Mass hallucination or real phantom child? Seemingly random ppl are getting attacked by a small boy with a bat on a pair of roller blades. Very surreal like Perfect Blue but not as demented.

Record of the Lodoss War - Fantasy World of Warcraft type anime without the orcs.

s-CRY-ed - Xmen/DBZ type anime. Ppl with a certain genetic code can manipulate matter according to their personality.

Tsukihime - vampire girl (who looks like she's 12 but is reportedly 400) falls in love with a guy who is incapable of being directly affected by spiritual power. Metaphorically speaking this guy is a pair of rubber gloves to any and all spiritual power.

Twelve Kingdoms - Based on a novel with the same title written by Ono Fuyumi released by Kodansha, the story focuses on Yoko Nakajima. She was a girl who had pretended to be the honor student in her school and also at her home. One day, a man named Keiki showed up suddenly, and Yoko was called "Lord" by him. Her destiny began to move greatly from that time.

Yakitate Japan - bread making anime. Boy wants to make the greatest bread in all of Japan and meets up with many rivals. Very much like Iron Wok Jun or Cooking Boy

I've been trying to figure that one out since I read it in the manga. My guess is that there's one more member of the uchiha clan that wasn't killed by Itachi. Otherwise that leaves only Kakashi, but I doubt it.

And I'm glad the flashbacks are finally over. Nothing but action from here on out :D

It actually made plenty of sense, if you buy into this crazy ass theory I read. Apparently, some people think the guy on the pole in this episode isn't Itachi (Even though they show in 84 that it is Itachi). Instead, it's the leader of Akatsuki. Thus, the leader apparently has Sharingan too. But, since I already stated that if you look in episode 84, it clearly shows it's Itachi that's up there, the whole theory falls apart. But, I wouldn't be surprised if it's someone else in Akatsuki. Someone had to tell Itachi where to find the information about the Mangekyou Sharingan, right?

I dunno if its Kakashi, I think its a pure blood thing. I believe it was mentioned some where that it was the true Uchina clan technique. But of course they can make it whoever they want. I do have a feelin it is someone in the Akatsui because I do not think Itachi is the head of it and it seems like someone with those eyes is in control

I don't think its someone in Akatsuki. Remember when Kisame found out about Sasuke, he was surprised that there was another Uchiha alive because Itachi had told him he killed everybody. But you're right about having someone to tell Itachi how to get it.

Edit: Also in this episode Itachi said he needed Sasuke alive to test his potential. If there was in fact someone stronger than Itachi, wouldn't he have wanted to test himself agains that person?

I just feel like there must be another Uchiha out there somewhere, cause I don't completely buy the Kakashi being able to go Mangekyou Sharingan, as he isn't of the Uchiha blood, and it seemed more like from what Itachi was saying, that you had to be of Uchiha blood. And the more I look at the person on the pole, it really doesn't look that much like Itachi. Even in episode 84. Though in the manga, he actually had the pony tail too, so he looks more like Itachi. And another retarded theory, though it could be true, is who is to say that Itachi is the one who actually killed all the Uchiha. People who believe this theory say that they've never actually shown Itachi doing the killing, just him showing up afterwards. Plus, what the Mangekyou Sharingan shows Sasuke may not be the truth. We hear Itachi claim having done all the killing, but who's to say someone else didn't do it? *Shrugs* There's some crazy ass theories out there. My personal favorite is that the leader of Akatsuki is really Yondaime.

I agree with the part about it having to be another Uchiha. Another crazy theory I heard was that since the Sharingan evolved from the byakugan, it might be someone from the Hyuuga clan. But the theory about the 4th being the head of Akatsuki takes the cake in terms of craziness.

Well, the Sharingan itself is a bloodline limit in itself right? So no one other than Uchihas should be able to use it. If this is true, the Kakashi shouldn't be able to use the Sharingan anyway since he's not of the Uchiha bloodline.

I think that's why he can't exactly deactivate it. He has no real control over it, so it just is always on. Sort of like in Bleach with Ichigo's released Soul Cutter. He can't really control it, so it's just always on. At least, that's how I see it.

Well, it's true he can't deactivate the eye itself, isn't the Mangekyou a specific technique of the Sharingan? One that must be mastered? Although Kakashi control the Sharingan itself, he can still utilize its techniques so I think that, although he has no control over the activation of the Sharingan (the on/off switch part) he can still do stuff with it (the dimmer function).
