Saddam Hussein is dead. Executed 12/29/06 9:57pm EST

I think they should have went with something more gruesome for his execution. They should have did it the american way by strapping him to a wood bench and pumping raw AC through his butt. We also have the also humane way like the gas chamber that is real nice.

Seriously the dude got off easy compared to the way we execute people that do alot less in this country. They even hooked him up with a scarf so there would be no marks for his burial. It is not like he didn't know it was coming so sheesh.

Nobody was complaining when we blew his sons up with bombs so there is no reason to complain now.

Hussein should have been turned over to the people that he tortured and killed.

Those of you that think this is "gruesome", your grandfathers would be ashamed or at least the ones that were in a war.

This isn't "tame" compared to T rated games idiot. This is a real death and video games are a series of pixels designed to look like real people.

I read this post and just had to say something about it. For one thing no one on TV in the U.S. showed the man actually swing. I think it was more of a statement to show that he is in fact dead to the rest of the world.

This dictator had a psycholigical hold on millions of people, many would not say anything against him as long as he was alive. This sends a message to other evil dictators that the people will have the last word if given the chance.

That goof over in Iran is going to be next on the rope because he is nuts. I'm just saying that it's all a message to those over there in the middle east.

Yes video games are a series of pixels/polygons that form a image on the screen. People are a series of carbon atoms/dna structures that form an image also. If you want to pull this argument then you have to consider the fact these pixels are given intelligence by programmers . Maybe not as advanced but the day will come when the pixels are smarter than us.

That kind of mentality doesn't do a whole world of good with regard to presenting the United States as a country *above* such uncivilized behavior. But, then again, you are clearly the kind of person who believes in justive as "that which makes you feel better," as opposed to justice as adequate punishment sufficient to the crime.
Nah, everyone else here are just a punch of pussies.

He is guilty of killing THOUSANDS of people and started wars that killed millions. he's a crazy wacko, he deserved to die. It's like you people would bitch about a video of Hitler's body burning.
Millions? Source please.
Poor Blade. Can't tell the difference between reality and fiction. YOU are the reason I hate the general public.
Oh gee Rachel, it seems as though your tiny capacity for reason has surfaced - hopefully your Always doesn't fold at the edges over what I'm about to tell you: You see, there's this new thing in Hollywood called "depicting death as realistically as possible", where they try to make all violence look real.

Tell me, if you can talk with all that cock in your mouth, how is this video even close to any fake death in the movies? There's probably more violence in your parent's house after your father comes home from work.

Maybe you need to just watch the video and run along like a good little girl.

Every Iraqi.

Just because the offical count is lower doesn't mean he didn't drag countless people into the streets and kill them.

There are some people worth debating on this forum. David85 is not, nor has he ever been, one of them.

I'd rather see PittsburghAfterDark back in here than that bitter queen.

Bra-vo. You sure showed me.

Idiot. Who the fuck is Rachel? And you continue to further your blurred line between fiction and reality with your pathetic responses. I'm a little ashamed of myself for responding to such stupidity.

The U.S.-led occupation authority in Iraq has said that at least 300,000 people are buried in mass graves in Iraq. Human rights officials put the number closer to 500,000, and some Iraqi political parties estimate more than 1 million were executed.

DOING the arithmetic is an imprecise venture. The largest number of deaths attributable to Mr. Hussein's regime resulted from the war between Iraq and Iran between 1980 and 1988, which was launched by Mr. Hussein. Iraq says its own toll was 500,000, and Iran's reckoning ranges upward of 300,000. Then there are the casualties in the wake of Iraq's 1990 occupation of Kuwait. Iraq's official toll from American bombing in that war is 100,000 — surely a gross exaggeration — but nobody contests that thousands of Iraqi soldiers and civilians were killed in the American campaign to oust Mr. Hussein's forces from Kuwait. In addition, 1,000 Kuwaitis died during the fighting and occupation in their country.

This sites, which doesn't look creditable, says he killed 600,000.

The true number will never be known but it's at least 500,000 and it depends on what you are counting. He started wars that lead to many deaths too. he was an insane wacko that deserved to die and that deserved to have a much worse death than he got.

Saddam got off easy. He should have been forced to rot away the rest of his miserable life in one of his old cells with a big Jewish roommate.
