Note: requires membership in the Safeway/Albertsons company’s shoppers reward program. Deal says “unlimited”, so you should be able to purchase more than $50 each visit, along with returning more multiple visits. No idea if other regions or stores outside the Pacific NW of USA are participating, but it’s likely to be all USA stores.
Points will expire at end of following month (so 2/28/25) UNLESS you have a current FreshPass account, in which case the points don’t expire as long as your FreshPass account active. Otherwise the 10x points store credit will expire either 2/28 or 3/31, depending upon when you convert the points to dollars. Lastly be sure to purchase before 12am your local time, or to be safe, before 9pm PST / 12am EST, just in case the corp. closes down the 10x multiplier at midnight on the east coast (like Rite-Aid does). YMMV.
FYI, here’s the math … purchase $50 of gift cards in either PSN, Subway, or both. This yields 500 points, which can be used to lower your grocery bill by $7.00 (post-tax). Getting $7.00 for a $50.00 investment equals 14% returned-on-investment (ROI).
If you accrue more points by buying, say, $100 - $120 in gift cards, those convert to 1000 - 1200 points … and then you can redeem those larger point rewards for $15.00 (15% ROI) or $20.00 (16% ROI) in grocery savings.
P.S. I’m currently on state gov’t assistance, for EBT+SNAP, so I save my Safeway reward money to use on an exclusively-non-food checkout at the store (with food partitioned away from the taxable stuff. The reward credit reduces the out-of-pocket cost, rather than reduces my food bill. It all works out to same sum of …
… in the end, since tax is calculated before the discount, but having a little more in the EBT+SNAP balance helps a little.
