4gb of RAM is sufficient enough for any games now and in the future. The 6.8gb RAM limitation is not a big deal.

The big deal is being able to upgrade components in the future (besides RAM). Think about that with your M17x a year or two from now. ;)
this computer will not be used for just games so i need all the RAM and CPU power i can get

upgrading the gfx card is a piece of pie on the m17x. CPU wise, im maxing it out when i buy it so i wont have the need to upgrade for a long while (still going on a P4 desktop here  )

I'm not trying to sway you into getting a Sager or anything, but I'm just trying save you the time and hassle in the future.

After taking apart 80% of your M17x this is how you change your components. Don't forget where the wires go now.

This is how I upgrade the Sager NP9850

Effortless.

the whole back cover just come right off with minimal to no wires. :D

HAHAHA im dead then if i have to do that im amature at that >_>
what has a better kooling system sager or AW?
Bye the way how do you upgrade the cpu ?
is it easy and does it cost a lot
P4 FTW xD

you almost got me...till AW added the option for a :br: burner and i hear that Dell will be giving people Win7 vouchers soon. Also helps that i found some coupons for free shipping and stuff

also, i heard that this Sager doesnt have MXM 3.0 slots so future upgrades in new GPUs will be limited (if future GPUs decide to go with MXM 3.0 slots).

i mean, i know upgrades will be hard but its cool. I'm not a novice to hardware.

well even for a total novice, AW sells upgrade packs that you can have someone from Dell come and install it for you for free (if you have the warranty)

AW coupons and other info: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=385557

cooling wise, I think the Sager has a slight advantage due to the larger case. Although, people are saying that the m17x's vents get the job done just as good as the Sager.

The Sager NP9850 is not in final production yet btw, so changes will still occur.

I will not get my system until August/September probably.

As far as Windows 7. I get that for free, since I run the MSDN library here at work.

well since review copies are out already, the chipset is final. The only thing that will change is what add-ons you can get

Like I said before, RAM is not an issue with me. Since no game(s) out even utilizes more then 4gb, but let me know when one does.

well i aint geting any thing till DECember soo hopfully something big will add on to 1 so its easier to decide >_>

take a look at this reviews of alienware
was soo determind to pick AW but then i stumbled on these ........dont know now ...
In every company there are a few bad apples and such. And there are people that give up too easy. Also, remember that AW merged with Dell (thus the term Delienware). I've had Dell for over 12 years, and have had no problems. If you know your stuff (tech side), most times the CS just comply with you and give you what you want ^_^

Have you seen the Sager NP9280 with a i7 Quad desktop CPU with a single 1gb Nvidia 280M GTX?

Man it's awesome too. I configured one and I got about the same price as the Sager NP9850.

Now I'm having seconds thoughts, Sager NP9280 with a i7 Quad CPU vs. a Sager NP9850 with dual SLi GPUs.

It's a tough decision.
