Saint's Row 2 - Gen. Discussion & Info

I played the first mission called Jailbreak (that's all you could play) about 10 times this past weekend at PAX08.

day one!

edit: oh yea, you could create your player before you start up the first mission and people created some crazy stuff! I didn't use it, just played the mission..
The game leaked on the interwebs so there should be some hands on impressions soon. (At least from zewone)
Ahahaha.

Also, all the multiplayer modes from the first are apparently removed and now there is just Co-OP and 2 other modes.

What!? I liked its multiplayer...it didn't work, but it was promising, I was hoping I'd be able to play it in the sequel :wall:

From what I hear, the 80's station is a LOT better than any of the shit from the first game's soundtrack. Stuff like:

Men At Work - Land Down Under
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
Duran Duran - The Reflex
Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World
Hall and Oates - Out of Touch
Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)
Aha - Take On Me
Night Ranger - Sister Christian
Europe - The Final Coundown

I just want you all to know that I HAVE THIS GAME RIGHT NOW and it's awesome. It sucks that no one is playing online right now, must be because nobody owns the game. Anyway, it's a huge improvement over the GTA games. Wish you could create female characters though.

Don't ask me how I got the game either, because I got it through my connect.
If you actually had the game, you would know you could make female characters!
You dont even need the game for that piece of knowledge.
SR1 was better than the other GTAs.

This one...not so much.
Just wondering if you could elaborate on this a little more under a spoiler tag. I know the graphics don't seem to have received an upgrade from the first, but otherwise it looks like fun.

The Graphics look great to me. The character models are much better then the 1st one. I like Saint's Row though ( I liked GTA 4 a ton as well ). It's fun is over the top action which is a change up from the realistic GTA.

The first thing i did when I had free roam was head to the airport. Wow I can actually jump into a G5 and fly around. I always loved flying the jets around in San Andreas and was pretty bummed when GTA4 couldn't. Oh! and parachute too. Bout to get extreme.Nice job Volition.

Because I come from a Land Down Under you better run, you better take cover.

I love 80's music so I will definately enjoy that.
I wish they would just steal GTA 4's wanted circle.
Not me. I thought the circle took some of the fun out of getting a wanted level and going on the run, I barely ever had a problem outrunning the police in GTAIV.

Ive been watching some people play this on justin.tv and im really pumped for this game. It looks really fun, and i find myself busting out laughing at some of the things that happen during the game. I love the backhanded pimp slaps, and MMA fights look fun. I cant wait to get this game and play it all night long. :)

I pre ordered this from gamestop.com. Apparently its supposed to come with codes for UFO, Minibike, and some download for a windows theme which looks cool. So hopefully all these codes will be in my package when i get it. I hope it comes around release day though, i dont want to be waiting a week to play this. Since i think i used free shipping code.

This made me lol

I can see me listening to The mix 107.77 the most, cos i loved Vice City's music. Everytime i hear 80s music i want to play GTA:VC. But i could see me listening to Krhyme and GenX too. I dont normally listen to rap that much, but for this game it would be the right setting. Krunch is another maybe.

7 days till release!!! :whee:

At least there's one feature I'll enjoy over GTAIV, the soundtrack. I have a horrible taste in music and I'm very excited over most of The Krunch listings.
