Saints Row Official Thread (New map available for download)

If I don't find Billy Bob soon, I'm going to go crazy, it shouldn't be that hard to find a guy with a cowboy hat in a truck in this game
You dont have to back out to save. I saved after beating every level in insurance fraud. Beat the level, press A to continue, press start, choose the Save options...and presto!
Ah, must have read the save screen warning wrong then. I'll give it another shot. Hope the console doesn't lock up anymore *knocks on wood*.

OK, so I just saw this security truck (armored car, the one they take money to the bank in) and I was like damn, this game's so detailed, I wonder if I can open up the back and take money out. I jacked the truck. I couldn't get the back doors open (locked?), so I decided to try something else. I decided to ram cars head on. It caught on fire. I was hoping the door would blow off. The security van (called the TITAN) blew high into the sky..

..and money rained down. I bet I picked up $4,000. God I love this game.

//edit: Comparing to the total on my last save, I picked up $5,200

You missed out on a great cheat. Keep the truck in your garage, blow it up with pipe bombs take the cash, go back into the garage pay $500 to fix the truck, and repeat till your hearts content.

Take the Titan to your garage.
Take it out.
Blow it up.
Collect money ($6000).
Repair for $500.
Blow it up.
Repeat process.

Unlock "Penny Pincher" Achievement.

Yes finally got Billy Bob... it's not normal for the Hitman targets to punch you before you even shoot them is it? but apparently I didn't save it when I whacked Theresa...

Edit: and those Titans must be rare, because I still haven't seen one
Well looks like I have an agenda for tonight's Saint's Row gaming.
If you're gonna be looking for a Titan, it can be a bitch.

You can get one easy from doing the level 7 Hijacking of the Los Carnales or Vice Kings (I forget which one, it's the one thats not by the water, close to the middle of the map).

When you get it hold down to cancel the activity.

this game sure crashes a fucking bunch.

and how the hell do you do the spray paint activities? can you beat los carnales with out doing the paint stronghold? i do the stupid fucking paint motions and it always starts over, plus i cant get out of the mode so i get shot. its real cool.

Unfortunately, you have to complete that stronghold to progress to the end.

I was having trouble doing them as well. You have to kind of "hold" the stick in place when starting the next motion. By that, I mean don't let the analog stick go back to it's normal, in the middle postion.

I think if you press Y or B it cancels the graffiti painting. I know, I've done it at least once when I was getting shot. I recommend killing all the Carnales before painting, or at least the ones that are shooting you.

Is anyone else approaching the game like me? I finished the Carnales missions and now I'm going to do all the activities before completing. I know a lot of you guys did all the missions first.

THe best way to play it is do a few missions, then do some activities that wil help gameplay... no point in having fast health regen if most of the health needing missions and activities are over (at least in my game).

i did like 50 activities then i just played the game straight through so i wouldn't have to worry about getting more respect to do missions
Finally picked the game up, about to give it a spin in a minute or two.

C.A.G-UNIT!!
I'll send you an invite to CAG Unit. Cheapy is in it, so it must be the winner, right? ;)

We definately need to do more big ass chains and blinged out ride or whatever the hell they're called, those were awesome.. especially blinged out ride.

As far as the Titan goes, you get one for beating all of the Hijacking missions. Here's what I did when I needed money, it's a bit more streamlined.

1. Go to the Carnales Mansion once you acquire it.
2. Retrieve Titan, but don't take it out from the Garage.
3. Shoot two rockets while it's still in there.
4. Wait for it to explode.
5. Immediately retreive another new car from your garage.
6. Walk in there and grab all the money.
7. Repair Titan for $500 and repeat.

The reason for step 5 is so you can avoid having money get stuck inside of the hull of the Titan and avoid the burning wreckage. It works really well once you get the plat RPG because it holds twice as much as the regular luancher and you can reload inside the mansion.

Oh yah, you guys doing the tagging missions are in for a treat. The game loves to make the spray HUD disappear after you initiate a spray(the one that gives you the directions for the tag) so you'll track down a tag and have to guess what the sequence is. It's actually doable by trial and error but it's a colossal pain in the ass. The good thing is that a lot of the time it was just a "A A A A" tag.

In case you guys haven't seen it yet, here's the map I used to track them down and a description of the locations courtesy of the awesome guys at the 360 achievement forums and an inverted version that might be more printer friendly.

The numbers aren't actually that accurate, the actual locations are the pink spray cans besides (or under) them.

Holy shit, they actually went with that?! I can't believe the name that I created actually came into being, I'm...flattered :D

I hope Cheapy doesn't mind rolling with another bald guy, since my character is Jean-Luc Picard, engage!

I've spent the better part of my first day with the game having my metrosexual/homosexual tendencies coming out it seems.

I was spending time with activities to get more money so I could buy nice clothes for my character. Damn clothing is overpriced though. At least my character is dressed nicely.
Same.

I didn't even realize we came up with a gang.
It's not an official gang, (I think that's Cheap Ass Gangstas), it's something about 10 of us are in for when we want to play clan matches. I'll send you guys invites as well.

Can I get a invite as well, my XBL is Dark Dijital
I would also like an invite to whatever the CAG gang is.
Me too please.

82%... ok I think I'm done... the effort is gone now... I experienced the same thing with Dead Rising: once I beat the game officially, it just stopped being fun. Maybe I'll come abck to it at a later date...

Umm. So I just beat the game in about 22 hours. Anyone care to explain what the fuck the ending means??? AND will my statistics ever say 36/36 or will it forever haunt me with 35/36?

Some guy got the DLC early from a MS rep. Heres some video showing it off:

some of that DLC is ok but I probably wouldn't use most of it. I would use the eye patch and the boxers and................................ maybe the chaps.

I thought people were kind of waiting for the patch before starting up the gang, otherwise I would have been up for it earlier, so if there is extra room I wouldn't mind an invite. Thanks.

GT: AK85

The CAG Unit gang is just a quick get together gang that was started by Jaket. The real gang will come when the patch comes out. This is from my understanding.

I just beat the game today. Took me about 17-18 hours. Had a lot of fun with this one. Still have plenty left to do too. I might start playing online now.

MAjOR SPOILER AHEAD
.
.
.
.
*************MAJOR SPOILER**************
I think it means that your character is a cop... at least that's what I got from it.
*************MAJOR SPOILER**************

Somebody who has seen the ending mark that for moderation, I'm lucky I scrolled past it very fast, either use the
or create more of a gap than 3 lines.

My theory on the ending. I think it's pretty damn good.

As the instruction booklet suggests, Troy is an undercover cop. I mean, the booklet has an article called "The Trojan Horse", his name is Troy, you get the point. This explains why he is holding a badge at the end of the game. Your character is a person he has worked with several times on missions. He also feels a certain guilt because he's been undercover so long, he feels bad for betraying one his "brothers."

He tells Julius that your character is looking to take over the gang, which could put him at risk because him and Julius are "close" and if Julius goes, Troy knows he would go. This also explains the second to last cutscene where it shows your character and the other gang members, one of which says "just say the word." Troy finds out about your plan. Troy and the police cut some deal with Alderman (who is working with Police Chief Monroe as suggested by mission where you have to kill Marshall Winslow). Julius finds out about your treachery, and plants a bomb (he looks at his watch which suggests he planted it). The end.

However, I have to say there's a definite sequel set-up, as apparently, players have reported hearing a particular *splash* sound after the boat explodes, suggesting your character may have survived. I haven't heard it myself, but alot of people have.

Does anyone have any tips for Drug Trafficing Level 8? The activity was easy as shit before then, now it got fucking hard, 3 cars show up with 5 Carnales a piece and destroy me instantly.

I had trouble on the Carnales one too. I forget the user who gave me the tips, but its in one of the pages on this thread. Anywho, he said to ALWAYS have your gun pointed behind you at all times whenever the dealer is driving. I ONLY used the pistol they give you with unlimited ammo and ONLY shot at the drivers chasing at me, be it cops or Carnales.

Once out of the car, I took his advice and whenever I could, recruited a gang member or two to help out. Again, I only used the pistol, because it was either the .44 or the GHDC .50 that they give you, and it only takes 1 bullet to drop someon. As soon as the deal was done, I hopped back into the car, with the gang member or not, doesn't really matter, you don't have time to wait for them. If your car is damaged, find another, a cop car is a good choice because they're fast and can take a good deal of damage.

Hope that helps.

Just wait til you get to the other one. Level 8? Man, 2-3 FBI SUVs on your ass at ALL times. With a helicopter that potshots you from the air as you wait for the deal to go down. One time the heli landed and sent out SWAT team. SOOOOOOOO hard. I tried it once and was so blown away at how hard it was, I didn't wanna go back to fail several times more.

Yea, I keep it aimed behind me, but it dosen't ALWAYS give me the GHDC .50... sometimes it gives me the fucking regular junky pistol. I finally got to the end, 5 / 5 deals done, and I got shot at by about 10 carnales with AK's and died. I think I'm done playing for awhile.

Where the hell do I find a firetruck? It says at the airport, but I have spent the good last hour playing around that area and did not find a firetruck

Haha, here is something interesting to do after you finish the Rollerz missions... everything is in a spoiler because the whole thing is a spoiler.
Drive around until you find a bus stop with the # for "eye and eye voodoo" on the side... dial the number, and Lin comes back to you as "Zombie Lin" with a thirst for brains
Where the hell do I find a firetruck? It says at the airport, but I have spent the good last hour playing around that area and did not find a firetruck
You have it on your HUD right? I looked for it without my HUD on and as soon as I turned it on, it was there. It should be parked next to the warehouse with the CD on top, if not it will be eventually

Ok, I was wondering since there was not much talk about the CAG gang at all, I just kind of figured everyone was waiting for the patch before things got rolling and we started getting them BIG ASS CHAINS.

So wait, I need you to clarify something. Did Troy make up the whole thing about "your character planning to take over the gang and overthrow Julius," or was that "your character's own intention" after taking over Stillwater? Thanks in advance.
