I was in my local Sam's Club and noticed they had several of the Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundles but they were all priced at $337 despite MSRP being $329.99
I understand the "S" in MSRP stands for "suggested" but despite a few instances of Toy's R Us and Gamestop trying to be cute and effectively price gouging a few items I can't remember the last time I saw a major retailer do something like this.
What is worse is they have placards stamped at $327 with stickers over them with the $337 price.
Now I was curious as sometimes Sam's club does "a la carte" bundles so I thought maybe this came with something extra on top of what is actually bundled inside but no---it did not.
An employee tried telling me that they don't price items higher then MSRP and the actual price was probably $349.99 which I know to be true. When this was pointed out to him and he confirmed it by looking on line he looked at the box and said it was more expensive because this was a "bundle" that included a controller and racing wheel. I didn't bother arguing with him at that point since he obviously didn't know what he was talking about but I was wondering if anyone knew why Sam's club was pricing the console this way?
All stores in my area are sold out and I don't need a Wii U but know of a family member who would like to buy one for her son and outside of another $250 M&L bundle I figure this was the best way to go
