You know, I HATE the shortcuts people use in spelling in IM converstations.

IS IT REALLY THAT HARD AND TIME CONSUMING TO WRITE OUT TO AND FOR?

IS CAPITALIZATION THAT MUCH TO ASK?

HOW ABOUT AT LEAST AN ATTEMPT AT PUNCTUATION?

How can anyone expect to be taken serious at all when it's blantantly obvious that they aren't even putting effort into what they write?
Why should we think any actual thought is placed behind an idea when it's phrased in a completely sloppy, lazy manner?

I'm not asking that someone break out Keys for Writers or the AP Stylebook when they post a comment, but at least an effort towards readability and legibility would be nice.

I mean, it's not like thier aren't a myriad of resources out there like grammar references and dictionaries on the web that are but a click away.

 That's the most emotion I've seen out of you ever, well I guess cag1000 obtained his goal.
Laziness and stupidity are pet peeves of mine.

I understand ignorance. Ignorance is part of the human condition, and I will admit to being fairly ignorant myself.

I can put up with poor spelling, improper grammar, and lax punctuation, if it's obvious that the person just doesn't know better. There is no reason to jump all over them for it, as they realize their problem, and more often than not, they actually take steps to correct it.
They actually seek knowledge and apply it. Nothing makes me happier than to see someone actually learn and grow, even if it's after the fallout of a major argument.

If someone who knows better acts as such out of laziness or stupidity, then it bothers me. It's even more vexing because I know he's been asked before to at least try to be reasonable with the usage of his illegibile missives, as I asked him when he joined, as well as a couple of other times.

Well...for what it's worth, I skip almost all of his posts because I can't be bothered to take the time to read them.

And I don't think any of us take him seriously...or respect him at all, for that matter.

In other news, I was accepted into Purdue. Not my first choice, but it's a definite possibiliity. Yay for me! :D
Why Purdue? Most people from the Mitten usually apply to U of M or State.

I'd have to agree. Though I think most of the people on the recieving end of those posts either have gone underground or stopped posting entirely.

I did apply to UofM, and it's my first choice because of their aerospace program. Much cheaper too, especially since Purdue doesn't seem to be offering as much aid as I had hoped they would.

I haven't heard back from them yet, though. None of my friends have, actually. They're taking bloody forever with letting us know this year...

Has anyone heard of any of these anime, and whether or not I should keep them and watch them:

Bleach
Elfen Lied
Gantz
My Hime
Last Exile
Samurai Champloo
Full Metal Panic

I've downloaded most of these on a whim, and want to know if any are any good.

I like Full Metal Panic a lot. Haven't seen Samurai Champloo but have heard of it and heard that it is truly awesome. Elfen Lied I heard from somebody on here that said the show was awesome.

Last Exile is definitely worth your time, as long as you don't mind less action and a relatively slower pace compared to something like the scene in your sig.

Not true. The math building is 9 stories tall if I remember correctly. It's also not brick.

Full Metal Panic I downloaded just cause it had the words Full Metal in it. Even though it has nothing to do with FMA. And Samurai Champloo I downloaded cause I found out it's by the same guy who did Cowboy Bebop. Elfen Lied...That's one I'm not sure about....If only cause the opening scene is a naked woman blowing people up into blood....It just seems a bit too wierd for even me.

Looks like I'll be keeping everything, though I may delete this Gantz...The first four episodes won't run in any of my programs...They just crash them...Oh well. Yay for finally reaching 500 posts.

Bleach is REALLY good; about people call Soul Hunters hunting down ghosts.
Elfen Lied is messed up but still good story wise (just a bit more gore than usual)
Gantz is bizarre; People are abducted by some strange force and forced to hunt aliens hiding among the human population; Very similar in tone to the movie Saw - forced to do things you may not necessarily want to do; didn't like the art too much so this one I'd pass on
My HiME is funny. Animation is fluid and dialogue is witty
Last Exile is a period piece of sorts. It's got some awesome air battle w/ retro WW2 era inspired ships
Samurai Champloo is Cowboy Bebop but w/ samurais and rap instead of space bounty hunters and jazz. Definite must buy
Full Metal Panic is a funny high school/mech anime. This one's good; also, check out Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. It's the sequel and focuses more on the day to day school life than the military stuff but it's still funny nonetheless.

All in all, the must buys for me would be Bleach, Elfen Lied, My HiME, Samurai Champloo, and Full Metal Panic. Last Exile would be a 'maybe' buy. Gantz - 2 thumbs down.

EDIT: question: did you finish FMA? If you didn't, do so soon, it's really good. And if you did, what did you think of the ending?

Get this codec sorter called ffdshow. Get the Xvid codec. Get DivX 5 (or up) codec. Once all those are installed, everything should run fine whether you use Windows Media Player, BSPlayer, Sasami2k, or whatever 3rd party movie player you use

I just made a CD cover for Life's a Bitch and I'm Her Pimp, as it's freely available, and I didn't want just a blank cd:

Well, he's not selling the blank cd w/custom cover. He just want's something besides that boring cover of the cd.

I jsut googled Boba Fett, and found that image. It didn't come out quite how I wanted it to (I wanted it more chromatic, and not outlined), but it looks real nice on my CD. Now I just need to wait for the inserts and Knowing is Half the Hassle to come in the mail.

Bleach, from the bit I was flipping through a couple days ago, looked awesome. I'm probably gonna deleter Gantz and Last Exile, since I'm not a big fan of more modern day anime feel. I prefer something more along the lines of Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, or Ruruoni Kenshin over something like Gundam or Evangelion.

And I just finished episode 25 of FMA. At the rate I'm going through it, I should finish up this week or next week, since I'm watching about six episodes a day. I have to say that episode 25 was not only one of the saddest episodes of an anime, but had one of the most kick ass battle scenes in an anime (My sig is from episode 25). This is one of the few animes where I've actually cared if characters live or die.

I've done a few too - versions of the Ackbar one, one with Lindsay Lohan, mine, and the original OTTer one.

I just felt the need to give myself credit because I'm a narcissistic bastard. Don't mind me.

It's pitch black outside. I'm still adjusting to this "early night" thing, even though it's been like this for a few days now.

Driving in snow is surprisingly fun. Even when it's the first time ever you've done it alone. I learned that this morning. :)

There's still more shocks coming as well as kickass fight scenes. I must say, I'm a Naruto fanboy at heart but FMA definitely has a much deeper and compelling storyline. I guarantee you're gonna love the next few episodes.

Did you install all those codecs/files I told you about? Also, what version of WMP are you using? If it's 10 or above, those are notorious for crashing since Micro$oft is doing all it can to disable media players other than itself.

I'm pretty sure I've installed all of those codecs, and I'm using WMP 10.

As far as FMA vs Naruto, I'm definitely more on the FMA side. I know most people here aren't, but then again, I don't think a whole lot of people here have watched past episode five on [as]. I know Naruto gets good, but the beginning of the show didn't quite grab me as good as FMA did. FMA grabbed me from the beginning and just kept running. Everything from Flame Alchemist versus Full Metal Alchemist onward has been amazing, especially all of the episodes with Scar's chase.
I'm pretty sure I've installed all of those codecs, and I'm using WMP 10.
Well, if you don't mind a small workaround, most ppl don't know that the old WMP is still available on winxp and down. All you need to do is hold shift and right click on the movie file and click on the 'Open With' option. It should show Windows Media Player twice. The one below is WMP classic. Try that and tell me if it works.

Yeah, it's true about Naruto vs FMA. Man, I wish you'd seen the later episodes of FMA already because it's taking all me willpower to hold back the fanboy in me to discuss all the shocking events that happening after 26.
