MICHIGANTOWN, Ind. - Could it be... Satan? A central Indiana pet shop owner says a turtle that was the only animal to survive an October fire has developed an image of Satan's face on its shell.

Bryan Dora says it looks like the devil wants us to know that he was there.

Dora says he can see a goatee and a pair of pointy horns on the shell of the palm-sized red-eared slider turtle named Lucky.

He says Lucky is healthy and its behavior hasn't changed.

Investigators could not determine the cause of the fire, which destroyed the A-Dora-ble Pet Shop and several other businesses in Frankfort, about 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

Dora has produced a DVD of the turtle's story that he plans to auction on the Internet. He will also offer the winning bidder the chance to buy Lucky off-line.

I don't really see the devil in that shell.

I don't see it either :?

Not to be cruel or anything, but I can only imagine what a burning pet shop full of animals sounds and smells like.

I can kinda see it, but what astounds me is that he would produce a DVD of the turtle's life story. The American way has seriously become depressing.

I see it. Its in the part of the turtle shell that has a sort of "glare".

Though it looks like more of a goat with long horns and a long beard.

I can see it clearly. Kind of spooky. I put a red circle around what I see so others can see more clearly. The horns are just below the top of the circle with the eyes and face towards the bottom. The face is long like a goats. Hope it helps. Let me know is someone else sees it like me.

Crap ... if it is really the devil then he should take advantage of it and sell it on ebay or he should try and make contact with the devil and get some kind of cult going :p

Ah I think I see it. Awkward.

Something is telling me impending bankruptcy may have been the cause of the fire...

And Satan was the one who told me that, btw, becuase I saw him in the turtle

Where do you suggest we run?

We live in a world where the virgin mary appears in a half-eaten cheese sandwich. I say, lets let Satan make his appearences too. Just to be fair.

It looks like the dragon from that movie where Sean Connery plays the dragon. If it looks like anything. Which it doesn't. My Grandma had a closet door where the wood grain looked like a zebra. Did I make a dvd of it? No.
Of course, the OP's avatar is really the devil, as we all know:

Edit: God help me, I am joking. Knowing I am in the minority, I love that little guy.

I thought it looked like the dragon from the beginning of Breath of Fire. Whatever. Just some schmuck trying to make a quick buck.

Hmm.

MICHIGANTOWN, Indiana (AP) -- An Indiana pet store owner says he sees the image of Satan on the shell of a turtle that was the only survivor of a store fire in October.

The palm-sized red-eared slider turtle, named Lucky, was the only animal to survive the fire at Dora's A-Dora-ble Pet Shop in nearby Frankfort, about 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

Owner Bryan Dora now says he sees Satan's face on the critter's shell. He can spot lips, eyes, a goatee, shoulders and a pair of pointy horns on Lucky's back.

"The marking on the shell was like the devil wanted us to know he was down there," Bryan Dora said. "To me, it's too coincidental that the only thing to come out unscathed would have this image on it."

The image was not visible before the fire and Dora speculates the intense heat might have caused the shell's color to change. The turtle is healthy and there was no change in its behavior, he said.

The cause of fire that destroyed nine businesses or offices in the 1912 building in downtown Frankfort has not been determined.

"Turtles can hold their breath quite awhile," Dora said. "He may have taken one breath just before and held it through the fire. Except that the fire went on and on for hours."

Kooky turtle and his get-rich-quick schemes.

I don't believe any of it. First off, it's an exact replica of the pentagram Satan which is a man made symbol, and it survived a fire? That turtle shell had that logo engraved and the fire story is bogus because who's supposedly in hell? Satan. And what's supposedly in hell? Fire. It was just made up to boost the sales/publicity/whatever they're looking for.

"Turtles can hold their breath quite awhile," Dora said. "He may have taken one breath just before and held it through the fire."
Yeah, I'm sure a turtle is smart enough to know that it needs to hold its breath because fire gives off carbon monoxide and burns up oxygen. And I'm sure by holding it's breath, it could survive the fire and heat as well.

People now-a-days with their grilled cheeses and turtle shells.
