Who are you calling a noob?

Bummed PSU didn't send one out to me. Maybe they didn't like me giving away the GoW: COO umd code the last time. :(

And for stupidity, I passed on the MGS4 80GB bundle *TWICE* when it became available. I'll just hate on SONY again. LOL. Making me want to buy a PS3 when I don't have enough games that peak interest and driving the lust with the fading bc hunt. Damn you.
the offer is for a 80G PS3 - does this offer work when u buy a 160G instead of a 80g?

The 160G is at $450 today at amazon and that seems tempting!
Yes, it worked for me with 160GB

I'd love a code! If any could help me out, it'd be very appreciated! My dad's PS3 got stolen when my sister had a party when my parents were out of town, it'd be great to replace it for him for christmas.

Lurker here, swooping in for a code. If anyone has an extra one that would be greatly appreciated. I'm downtrodden and desperately need a handout from one of you fine people. My car broke down and street over and I just need the extra change to call a taxi so I can get her to the hospital on time! WOH IS MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I'll pay $10 via paypal for a $100 coupon... before it expires or has been used of course... e-mail me at pokerchipscot (at) yahoo (dot) com if you are interested.

The Sony Card promotion runs through 1/31/09 (you must be approved / account must be opened)

And by 3/31/09 you must have claimed your rebate

Has anyone signed up for the playstation underground recently and received the same e-mail? I signed up recently in hopes I would get one as well.

I just signed up, so I'll post with the outcome. I can't believe I waited this long to jump on this. This is a really good deal!

if anyone has an unused code, i intend to buy a ps3 in the next few days and would greatly appreciate you giving it to me.

i've been a member of the psu for 2 or 3 years now; not sure why they didn't send me a code. sucks.

Ditto I'd also be most appreciative of a 100 off amazon code. No idea why I didn't get one directly.
Please, thanks, and Merry Christmas.

Out of curiosity, for those folks who received the PSU email with the amazon discount codes, did you check any of the boxes to acknowledge your willingness to be contacted by Sony or its marketing partners?

I'm wondering if somebody could PM me a amazon discount, I really would appericate it since i'm trying to get a Playstation 3 in the next month.

If anyone has another PS3 code available I would love to see it. I could throw a few bones your way, or just come back here and let people know what a great guy you are.

In other words... pretty please. I'd really appreciate it.

I have one $50 code and one $100 code available. I was saving them until after Christmas but it turns out my girlfriend gifted me a PS3! :D

PM me if you'd like either code - first come first served.

EDIT: Codes are gone - that was fast!

I deleted the email that came with my code ages back before I realized how good a deal it was. It seems that amazon just resent it to me unasked. The problem now is that I'm not sure whether to pull the trigger. I've tried some PS3 games at a friend's place and they made me incredibly motion sick. I've never done well with FPS's and the like but I'm not sure if it's just the graphics or his tv. Hmmm.

well, if you decide not to use it can you throw it my way? (pm please)

A friend told me about these forums. Willing to give up the $50 and $100 codes to whoever PMs me first.

Gone as of 10:51AM EST....But I just got my email from Sony this morning/last night, so there's got to be more codes in the works.

Damn i got another email like the first one, only the codes were the same. I dunno why they would send it to me again. I tried to use one but it said the code was redeemed.

got the code. PM me if you want to buy it off me. $10 for the "buy 2 BLURAY" to get $50 off or $14 for buy "1 qualified PS3 game" and get $50 off

or both codes for $20

I have my sony card now and I'm ready to pull the trigger if I receive either coupon! I'd be willing to pay for them or donate to child's play on your behalf (I'll forward the receipt to you).

That's low man... selling coupons...
On slickdeals I just read that someone emailed Amazon with the offer details asking if they would honor the deal without a code and it worked. Here's a link.

http://forums.slickdeals.net/showpost.php?p=15593070&postcount=169

Thanks to the kind CAG that gave me a $50 code without asking for money. I donated $5 to the Child's Play charity in your favor.
I tried that. Amazon then sends you to Sony. Sony sends you to Playstation Underground. Playstation Underground sends you to Amazon.

Are we even allowed to sell coupons and other stuff on here? I know trading goes on, but that's a little different from cash transactions.

pf138 was nice enough to send me both codes. I used the $100 code, and still have the $50 code left (I assume it still works). First person to donate $5 to child's play on the front page gets it! Pm me your receipt from "Chip in". And afterward be sure to thank pf138.

A couple of people previously posted that once you use one of the codes in the email the other one becomes inactive. I haven't verified this myself yet, but it has been posted by others.

sorry my mistake!

EDIT: I just tried it and it did in fact take $50 off the order. Just pm me if you want it. don't worry about the donation thing in case the code doesn't work for any reason.

EDIT 2: Sent to Hodness.

I just can't justify buying myself a PS3 (no matter how cheap) when I have a year's backlog on DS and PSP games. If anyone wants either code and is willing to trade some lucre for it, drop me a PM. First come, first serve.

could someone please pm their codes if you're not going to use it

im tryin to snag a ps3 right now for the holidays and im just waiting on a code

thank u

there are dozens of people who have a history on this site that also want those codes. hopefully those people will get them and not someone who just signed up to ask for something.

I got it to work. But maybe it's not transferrable? Well Hodness tried and it didn't work. Then he said his brother tried and it DID work for him, but he didn't use it. So here it is if anyone (verterans, lurkers, and newbies alike) wants to try:

$50 Code 9JHK-GNLWC2-33SLW2

But please post if you do get it to work so we know it is no longer valid.

Has anyone had this problem? I called to check on my rebate status that I submitted 4 weeks ago and the Sony rep said that I wouldn't qualify because my PS3 purchase price wasn't 399.99 or more. I has used the 100 dollar off coupon and got the movies and game. Amazon sent the PS3 in a different shipment and billed me individually for that. What they did was take 80 bucks from the promotion and applied it to the PS3 price and when I got the shipment from Amazon, it billed me about 320 for it. They applied the other 20 dollars off to the shipment of the movies and game. Anyway, the receipt I submitted with the rebate form only had the final purchase price of 320ish. The rep from sony said it would probably get turned down. She said the rebate info says the purchase price must be at least 399. But I looked at all the stuff I received and it never says that. Is anyone else having this same problem? I called Amazon to ask if they could send me a different invoice that lists the full price of the PS3 but they offered no help.

Update

I called back to sony and spoke to a different rep and he didn't know anything about the 399 minimum. He said he would have someone call me back. If this doesn't work out I will be really pissed. I wouldn't have jumped at this deal without the 150 dollar off rebate.

It all depends on what terms you signed up for. Sony has had around 4 different versions of this promo. I used mine to buy an amazon gift cert and got $100 off.

I looked at the terms and conditions of the $150 off offer and nowhere does it state a minimum price. They use the 399 MSRP in their marketing ("get a PS3 for as low as $250") but that's it. The only requirements are to use ur PS card and buy the PS3 at an authorized retailer.

bbj77 - if i were you, I would complain for false advertising (that's what it is) and threaten to use legal actions. I'll buy a PS3 after xmas (hoping for a sale or a deal) and they'd better give me $150 off!

I agree, Finkel, good idea to wait for a price drop in general. 2009 will be the year of the ps3 price drop, guaranteed!

I dunno if anyone answered this, but when I got my Sony Card (few months back) they didn't hard inquiry my credit history/report -- so that was pretty cool... plus the high credit limit (low utilization) of the new card just adds to my FICO.

PS This code has obviously been used already...

have both the $50 and the $100 codes but could really use a 100 microsoft point code from that dream car challenge... if not, ill just give them away...

Mind giving me the $100 one, I don't have anything to give you now , but i'm going to get a $5 amzon gift card in a bit
