Do any of you cheapasses own a Scion tC? If so how do you like it? Pros/Cons? I'm looking for a new car and I've stumbled across this one. Any information or input that anyone has about this car is appreciated.

I don't have one myself, but I park by one every day out at campus.

Nice to look at - almost a metallic black. The interior is very nice and I love those dual sunroofs.

Good place to start as far as info is concerned:

I'm selling my '98 Jeep Wrangler right now and Edmunds has been a big help in knowing what to start the price at, etc... Their reviews are usually pretty good as well.

one of my friends has one in manual, he loves it, he says its great on gas, smooth ride, and its just awesome, very easy 2 get used to as well..test drive that mofo :D!

The box scion is silly.

I have a tC. GREAT car. I have had no complaints on it thus far. I have the Flint Mica Auto. The color is pretty nice....I've alwaysw had black, so Iw anted something a little different.

I have no complaints really. Gas mileage is decent....probably 24-25 MPG.

I would recommend getting it BARE-BONES though. You can get floor-mats and other accessories for half the price through online Toyota dealers. Unless you want the Super-Charger....the dealer will probably install that for you to not void a warranty.

Check out www.scionlife.com for some testomonials.

this cheap ass...I mean I own one. Had it for about 2 months now and very happy with it. You get alot for the price. It's a good looking car with strong reliable Toyota motor and an is300 inspired interior. So far I've been getting 25 miles to the gallon with a combination of highway and street driving.

*The car initially had a slight oversteer problem but this was fixed with TRD springs, DC strut bar and TRD rear swar bar.

here's my baby.

Thanks doubledown and plastikpyro. How is the car as far as interior quality and noise? Am I going to have to yell to my passenger when cruising at 70mph? I'm looking at the base tC with an auto trans for now. The supercharger is nice....but way too much money.

The quality is decent on the inside. The noise is nto bad...some peopel complain abou the moonroof and rear hatch having wind blowing, but it may just need a few screws tightened.

The interior is a lot of plastic. Be careful with the radio cover...I hav eno problems with it, just don't be rough with it. It's all very nice looking though. I think the temp control is metal though ;)

Check out http://www.mcgeorgeparts.com/ for parts....GREAT prices and service. I ordered lfloor-mats, door sill protectors, shift knob from them. They arrived in like 3 days after being placed.

mcgeorgeparts has a TON of parts, and much better prices than the factory. The Hotchkis Stage 1 TVS System looks promising at only 435.00

My mom drives one and its awesome. Its fast, affordablle, comfortable, fairly quite, gets great gas mileage, its an all around good car. She bought the low end model 16 grand. Not a bad price for everything you get. I recomend it highly.

Trying to convince my parents to get me one for graduation to be my everyday car. My TSX uses premium, though it gets good gas mileage. Does this use regular?

Yes it does use regular...and you already have a kickass car and I really hope your parents didnt buy that for you, because then your being greedy. Send me your TSX, if you do get a TC

Yeah, thanks I do love my car. It's just that going to college everyone around here stares and I have to worry about it being keyed or worse. So do my parents so they were thinking of just getting me something else driving around campus. I'd still keep the TSX for the occasional night out and everything. My friends rather enjoy talking to the car and seeing where the Navi can take us.

Do you scion owners take your car to get the oil changed at the dealership or elsewhere? How available are parts for the scion for other places to work on it? I don't want some shop monkey screwing it up.

I take my car to the local oil change shop...not the dealer. Although, you get THREE FREE oil changes from the dealer, I tried to go once and he said it was an hour wait.....I said screw that and paid my $20.

You can also buy a TRD Air Filter, but I jsut have the basic one in it....I probably need to replace it now that I think about it.

I'm sure parts are readily available, since it's a Toyota...
Wow...Toyotas have three free oil changes at dealerships? That's pretty nice.
Not sure if it's all Toyota's or just something Scion was doing......

It's still not worth my time to wait an hour to get an oil change though.

my friend still gets free oil changes with his 01 Celica GTS.....Nice ride man...luv the shoes you got on them...The Scion is solid...great for the price..my friend owns one and it drives well but you owners know that...ok tyme to take the teggy out and repair my winshield than go to school..

Glad to hear good things about the tC. I took the day off work today, was thinking about going to test drive one. Sat in one at a car show a few weeks ago, and though I thought I'd feel pretty silly, it was rather comfortable. I figure I've got a few years before I hit 30, I should have a "fun" car before I settle down and get a sedan or...minivan.... I guess I'll get a better feel after I get to drive one.
