Forgive me if this isn't the right section. I rented a copy of CoD4 (finally was in) and it turns out that it's scratched to high hell. It has those nasty rings you get when you move your 360 and a bunch of other surface scratches.

What I want to know is, is it a bad idea to play the game on my 360? I don't want to cause a lot of wear and tear on the laser trying to read this POS. It does make clicking sounds while I play online that are quite audible (I sit right next to the 360). Fill me in CAGs!

You may want to return it, 'm renting a copy of that game that is badly scratched and it may have caused my Elite's DVD drive motor to die.

I'd return it to. I had a PS2 that broke once and scratched up one of my discs. I got a new PS2 from wal-mart, tried playing the same disc and it in turned broke my new PS2. Luckily I was able to return it and get a new PS2 no-charge, but that really pissed me off at the time. I wouldn't take the chance, it's a rental for goodness sake.

I wouldn't do it. The last time I played a highly scratched disc, my console broke. No joke. The disc drive could no longer read anything after playing my scratched Halo 3 LE disc.
