I am going to be getting a DSi soon, I have not jumped on the DS wagon until now, so I figure I mine as well get the DSi. My girlfriend and younger siblings all have the DS Lite, and their screens are pretty scratched. Granted my siblings are far worse than my girlfriend's but either way.

I never like using screen protectors for any electronic item of mine, but it seems like the DSi would benefit the most. What do you guys think of screen protectors? Do you use them? Are they nice? Do they come off cleanly when needed?

Basically, what are your guys' opinions of screen protectors for the DSi or DS in general?

I never use them because I can never get them on properly.
If you're willing to screw up while putting them on, and potentially waste money on buying the protectors... go for it!

they are definitely worth the money, especially if you play games like Ouendan.

On my light and my DSi, I've stuck to the Hori protectors. Good quality and they are the easiest to place on the screen without screwing up

Hori protectors FTW. They are easy to put on and don't leave any residue when you peel them off.

You know how the protectors are protected on both sides by a sticker? First take off the one sticker on the side that's going to touch the screen. Then SLOWLY and gradually apply the filter from one side to the other. Use your finger on the side that ISN'T touching the screen to apply pressure so that it sticks. If you get a bubble, simply peel back slowly and try again. Sometimes you get a tiny bubble which isn't really all that worth freaking out for. Once the whole protector is set, peel off the other sticker. Fresh!

Definitely worth it. It's not as hard to apply them if you're careful and slow (and this is coming from an impatient person without a steady hand). I will say that I have gamestop protectors on mine and it still looks brand new (DS lite is a year old). I went with an imported hori for my ex's and it was horrible.. might have been fake or on backwards, I don't know, but the GS ones are alright for me.
Invisible Shield FTW. I got mine for DSi for about 17 shipped, with lifetime warranty.
I read a thread here where someone removed the invisible shield off his DS lite and it took the paint off with it. >_>

anyways, I have hori protectors that I got off decalgirl.com and applied them to my ds two years ago. no air bubbles or anything - looks pretty much invisible. =) I dont know why some people have a hard time applying them, even with hori ones, are they just slapping them onto their screens or something? I dont think it's a waste of money. $8 to protect your $129+ device sounds like a pretty good investment.

Sounds like they were an idiot. :|
I never had a problem with invisible shield, and as long as you do it right, there shouldn't be any problems. They have been voted best screen protectors for multiple systems, and it definitely shows.
I'm sure most of the others work just fine, but my vote would definitely be IS.
