screw best buy
Don't take this the wrong way, though how the hell could I figure that out from the fifty different places you were going with the rant in the OP?

You went from this:

To this:

And then this:

Later to this:

And finally to this:

With this little postscript:

Could have just checked the manual where it gave you the warranty terms and contact information for HP, plus the same info on the website.

Much less stress and much less yelling, even if there are BB employees that don't know how the process works. In that case, I would have been complaining to the manager about the lack of knowledge his employees have.
it was the manager of the geek thing that told me this in the first place on tuesday

Called them tuesday and ask them about it and they said bring it in and they would take care of it,.
Went in tuesday with the item they told me to bring .. they go O we need the packing label and all set to go
came back thursday and their entire story changed

Here's an idea: Take notes. :dunce: Write down the names of the people you speak to and what they tell you. If someone else tells you something different then you have a reference point for what you were originally told. As many times as you've posted about having problems you should have figured this out years ago. Shockingly, I don't think this advice will be taken and problem threads will continue to be posted. :wall:
Slidecage wins again...almost 50 replies to one of his threads to nowhere.
I feel like it's a joke I don't understand. :(

Did it stop working because you were carrying down the sidewalk, tripped on a raised section of concrete, and dropped it? You should sue the homeowner and/or the city. If it broke because the mailman ran it over, you're SOL because the USPS is broke.

..and if they determine it's not an issue between the keyboard and the seat...
Wait wut? What sidewalk issue? LINK ME

So lemme get this straight:

Instead of contacting HP(the manufacturer of the printer), slidecage went to BB expecting them to send it in on their dime because he was told that they were an official HP hub or something to that effect? When's the last time a BB employee has actually been RIGHT about something? I mean, ffs, we gamers know more about their upcoming sales/deals than the employees do most times.

Anyway, simple solution: Contact HP

http://www.contacthelp.com/directory/Hewlett-Packard?ListingID=221

Phone: 800-474-6836

How to reach a live person:
Press 0 four times through prompts

Hours of Operation:
24/7
A $25 printer?! My ink cartridges cost more than that.
That's the true scam. They sell you a cheap printer with starter cartridges and charge a much higher price to replace the ink.

Slidecage & everyone else: stop buying inkjet, get a nice little mono (black) laser printer for $50-$100 and never worry about tripping on the sidewalk ever again.

Need "concrete" proof that inkjet is a scam? Some companies have digital expirations on their ink. A freshly opened pack bought a few years ago ago won't work in the printer due to it recognizing the expiry chip.

This. On my first 1000 page toner, after my 250 page one that came with my Brother 2170W ran out after years.

Injets are fine -- the trick is to do your research and get one that can be refilled with generic ink. Obviously, printer companies are not going to make it easy for users to refill themselves (in most cases it will void certain parts of the warranty), but my Canon MX870 cartridges run just fine on the generic stuff.
