Screw E3, Xbox 2 premieres TONIGHT on MTV at 9:30pm EST

I agree the event on MTV sucked ass... It didn't show me anything... other than what the sytem looks like . The movies were worthless...

I do like the look of the system... now what is the price? Hopefully $299 or less.

This gets special credit for misusing the same homonym twice in different forms in such a brief period.

A few random things from gamespot:

But for all the details Microsoft did release today, several major questions about the Xbox 360 remain unanswered. Foremost among these is the console's price, which analysts estimate will run between $299 and $399--and some predict will be $360. Nor did Microsoft address whether or not there will be more than one version of the Xbox 360 on store shelves at launch. "We won't talk about the specific dates or price points at E3," chief Xbox officer Robbie Bach told GameSpot. "It's a little early to do that."

Microsoft also danced around the subject of backward compatibility--for the time being. "The obvious point that comes up that's always interesting to talk about is backward compatibility and it's something we will talk about at E3," said Bach. "We haven't been public with what's happening there for a lot of different reasons and that will end on Monday night. That's one of the few things I am bound by my own NDA not to discuss."

Yeah but that is just being consistent. Now if yet another form of the homonym had been abused the kid would be a first round draft pick in the Special Olympics.

I was completely disappointed by all the information I didn't find out on Thursday night's MTV program. I sure hope Microsoft gives us some real details at E3, or I'll be much more inclined to wait a price drop (or more) before putting any of my cash down on their new machine.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but IGN says that it would be difficult for the xbox360 to play xbox games because xbox had an nVidia graphics card while the xbox 360's is ATI.

It's not that big a problem if the feature is deemed important enough. I've describe in detail how this would be done in other threads in this section.
When people mean a reversal they say someone did a 180. A 360 suggest you ended up where you started.

When I hear Xenon I think of the old pinball machine that made all sorts of orgasm nosies. Every once in a while, if no one was playing it, the machine would do some of its sound FX to draw attention. If we were playing the machine next to it we'd jokingly reach over and pet it to offer reassurance that we still loved it even if we with another game.

Right, that's why people using the saying in my example irks me. (And why I think the name Xbox 360 is pretty stupid.)

And :) about the pinball machine.

Damn im sorry, "They're" you happy :)

I didn't read all the post, so hear it goes.

This event was a 30 minute waste of my time. I was expecting them to do a run down of the consoles features, and play video clips from the games for it, and I don't count thos less then five second videos either... I also laughed when I saw that Pimp My Ride thing; that isn't a pimped Xbox, all they freaking did was paint some ugly design on it, slapped on a 15 inch LCD with some metal wrapped around it, which the LCD is cool, but now you have an even uglier, heavier, Xbox.

And I couldn't believe it when it came to Perfect Dark Zero. For one thing, they showed a full body view of Joanna Dark, and that confirms she has red hair, which is NOT what she had in the original game, so I guess some new boss guy at the studio came, and has the hots for red heads or something... But besides that, what was stupid is they showed a video clip of everything in non-skinned form, with the polygons moving around, and then they show the gamers watching a skinned game video! I guess Microsoft wants it to be one of there heavy hitters at E3, so they are still keeping the video under wraps.

The Xbox 360 will have three USB ports, and you can connect the wireless controller to the USB port/s and play through the cable while also "trickle-charging" your batteries. So they will probably have an Xbox proprietary USB connector to normal USB connector, and maybe they will allow you to use a regular hub for multible controllers, or they might prohibit that in the BIOS.
Any word on which channels are going to show E3 coverage?
G4 is the only one i think

While backward compatible would be nice, I don't see it as a necessity. The specs are impressive so I expect to see awesome graphics and gameplay. I want to know how much it will cost and if the hard drive is extra.

Damn... you have to have digital cable to get that channel. I'm too cheap to pay $65 a month for cable tv.

It explains why people have him on ignore. Like I say, it's not that you're ignoring him because he's offensive or rude, it's just that you're streamlining the site, he never has anything to say, good or bad, he's just THERE and when he is THERE he's never funny, informational, or interesting. Like John Candy in "Trains, Planes and Automobiles".

I think you confuse "cheap" with "poor".
