Sears ad mistake - PS2 GHIII Bundle $50 - now w/ link!

Well crap i was about ready to run back to walmart just got home from there BUT then I noticed PS2..... oh well i'll just stick with 360 version game only whenever i find a deal. Good luck PMing yall. :D
in today's Sear's ad, it says $49.99 for PS2 GHIII but the picture shown for it is the bundle, not the disc only version. good luck!
im gonna check this out later..
So what stores do a price match ??
As a veteran of 2003, I would expect you to know... But then again, you may just lurk...

Stores that may price match are... Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Frys and maybe a few others... But most are aware of the high demand for the game and will probably call to verify.

I know my CCs are asses and always call...

the ad doesnt say game only like most other do for the 360 version....if you get someone that doesnt care too much at a walmart you may score this

Shoot. too bad it's for the PS2.

You guys better get on this today, since they totally caught on and posted notices in all the stores after that 20gb hard drive fiasco.

hm, I printed it out and it shows the sears location in Texas on the top. Gonna give it a try anyway. Maybe I can trade it with someone for the 360 version.

hmm i may try this out, and for the 360 version at wal-mart :)..its full of old people, i doubt they'd really care..right :whistle2:x?
ive never price matched before

Good luck guys. Sears seems to be notorious for serious typos and act like an ass when they do. Though to me, they should honor the price. If its a typo, then if they wanted to, they could very easily say that everything in the ad is a typo. So much for consumer rights.

Yes, i saw the ad this morning ... sadly, only PS2 version. I stick with 360 version. I'll call my local TRU and hope they let u exchange PS2 version for $360 version and pay for the extra. If i get lucky they let me do it if not. ... who care :)

Well my local ad has the correct price. Regardless I printed out the one the OP linked to and will try my luck on Friday at Sears and maybe Walmart. In all likelihood all stores will be informed of this by then but I will try anyways.

thats true cause i remember the last time this happened when they advertised the 360 HD for $19.99 and they didn't honor it when i went to the store.

Sears barely even sold me a game for it's own price tag. The manager basically accused me of changing the tag, in different words of course. This was for a game that I'd save $10 on.

Begrudgingly, he allowed me to purchase the game from their store for the price it was marked :applause:
worked for me at walmart.. then returned it and payed the 10$ for the wii version. :)
I tried it too...but to no avail.

They don't honor Online Ads, so now I'm looking for an actual Sears ad that has the PS2 Guitar Hero III bundle for $50.

Anyone wanna do this Cag a huge favor? (All of the Sears ads in my surrounding area have gh3 marked at $80...check for your location to see how much its printed for your area)

Of course, with the 120 gb drive out now, many places are clearancing the 20gb hdd out @ around the price of the Sears typo, especially Kmart, so it worked out in the end if you think about it.

Not even worth the attempt from my Sears experiences. Local ad here shows $89 for the PS2 bundle so even less of a chance.
Would stores even accept a computer printout for PMing purposes?
I used to think Wal-Mart did, but they don't.

Circuit City might though

Well sears sucks, i belive they will be out of business in the next 10-15 years. only reason it will take so long is due to the fact that they still have a rep from what kind of store they were 20 years ago

Unfortunately when I got to Sears not only did they not have it in but they already posted a sign about it. I didn't try to get Circuit City to price match cause they're in the same mall and would probably know better.

I came EXTREMELY close to getting it price matched at Best Buy and Walmart but Best Buy already knew it was a misprint and Walmart won't price match unless it's the EXACT same one (they have a different guitar in theirs  )

I almost got it at Walmart, but I was looking at the box and noticed it was for the Wired PS2 GH3 Bundle and told them I wanted to PM the Wireless version, but they didnt have it

But, if they go out of biz, so does Kmart, since they're under the same corporate umbrella anymore. And out of the two of them, I'd definitely miss Kmart more than Sears, since I have rarely found anything good in Sears on clearance. Well, except for my copy of Ico and maybe one more game.

Hopefully, I can get this PMed. Who knows, maybe I can get 2 of them so I can have a Christmas present ready for someone.

I've gotten Best Buy to do it and CC said they only PM their own website. The best place to do it is . . . Sears. Never had a problem, even for amazingly good deals. BB and CC is YMMV as people here have reported no problems and others have been denied.

I got mine!

I printed out the ad page and the page it linked to. Brought it to CC and they couldn't find it on the Sears website (my area has a different flyer) so they wouldn't do it. Went to Walmart and they had no problem with it. They glanced at it quick and that was it. They gave me the version with the wired controller but I wasn't gonna argue. Besides, I don't want to bother with batteries even if it means giving up the sweet black one.

no dice at CC, so I don't think it'll work 'round these parts
Do stores generally accept print outs of the company website or do you have to find a flier with the misprinted price?
I printed out the ad page from the website and the actual item page, both showing the bundle for $49.99 and confirming that it was good through Nov. 3. Worked like a charm.

Third Best Buy worked, and I even got my $10 off best buy coupon to work with the PM, got Victorious boxers Revolution for the wii (aka Hajime no Ippo). This dub is gonna kill me inside...
