Sears ad mistake - PS2 GHIII Bundle $50 - now w/ link!

This is tempting to attempt.

Is this an insert in the newspaper recently?

Woohoo! I got it to work. Here's what I did:

I'm in Washington. Went to Wal-Mart, they said they don't price match with Sears. Then I went to CC, they did it for me. Then I took it to BB and exchanged it for the 360 for $10 more. Wooohoo! GH3 for $60!
I've gotten Best Buy to do it and CC said they only PM their own website. The best place to do it is . . . Sears. Never had a problem, even for amazingly good deals. BB and CC is YMMV as people here have reported no problems and others have been denied.
Whoever runs that CC is a total ass. They just didn't want to do it, or for anyone on anything for that matter. Unless it is clearly stated that they don't price match other stores, they're utterly full of shit

Worked for me! I took the printed ad into Best Buy and the guy price matched it, no problem. Then I went to another BB and swapped the PS2 version for the 360 one and paid the $10 difference. In fact, the closest thing to a problem I had was when I went to the 2nd BB the girl told me that ordinarily I'd have needed a receipt but since the game wasn't open and she knew it was brand-new, she'd do it. I had to do 2 Best Buys because everyone else was out of the wireless 360 version.

I did the deal at Sam's Club

Printed out the ad and me and the missus went there and the Cashier Manager went and got permission and within 3 minutes I had GH 3 for 50 bucks.

Nice! Thanks C.A.G

That's tempting....I want to get new strings for my actual guitar, but I'll never need strings for this one. OOOOH! So hard to choose...

I saw one previous poster that was able to swap for the difference, and I believe you shouldn't have any problem doing that for an un-opened copy. A friend of mine (prior to this sale) bought GH3 for the PS2 and ended up getting a 360 so he exchanged it at BB. Good luck to all those who want to get in on this.

I actually got a copy of the misprinted ad in my Sunday newspaper but didn't realize it until today (ok, so I'm a little slow...... )

Went right to Sears this afternoon, picked up the LAST COPY of the PS2 bundle and found the most eager salesperson to help me ( a younger person, probably 21 or 22(( I'm 40 so that's young to me))):oldman:

Had him ring me up, when he said,"That will be $94.49 Sir" I pulled out the ad and said "But the price in your flyer says it's only $49.99"

He took the flyer from me, looked at it, said "Hmm, yes it does" shrugged his shoulders and gave it to me for $52.49.

Now all I have to do is return the copy of the game only that I preordered from TRU during the TRU Friends & Family promotion (just got it in the mail yesterday, still unopened).

Yea for me (and my 13 year old who loves to shred on these games!!!!):applause:

And thanks for posting, OP! You truly ROCK!

I really wanted Guitar Hero 3 now. But i wanted 360 version instead PS2 version. I do owned PS2 but i don't know why i do not go for PS2 version :(

how do you "swap" a game that wasn't originally purchased there?

This may have been mentioned elsewhere but if you look in their Big Book, or whatever its called, they list the PS3 and 360 Bundles for 89
