Sears "Closeout on Hundreds of Games" 50% Off, 9.99[EDIT:Seems like a bust]

poopy

CAGiversary!
EDIT: Seems to be the same old games from the previous Sears' clearance.
EDIT 2: Confirmed to be the same old clearance. See original thread/list here: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76977

Sears ad (good for today - Apr 29) has a small blurb that says: "Closeout on Hundreds of Games" with a blue 50% off banner and under that Sale: $9.99. They only show Spiderman 2 for the PS2. This has potential to be an awesome clearance or simply to suck.
I don't even think sears near me carries games any more, might check this out though.
Really? Both of the Sears near me have quite a bit of games... but they're all tucked away in the Electronics and Appliance section and kept under glass and key. Nobody goes there for games.

Man, someone's got to know :p. If I can I'll head over there in about an hour. I could go now but they're not open, but I'm not sure I'll get a chance later or not.
Is this the same clearance sale that was going on earlier....it appears so.
Could have some of the same titles, but that clearance sale has been going on forever and they've never advertised it before as far as I remember.

my clearance at my local sears are total trash not even updated with game prices. While the northern area has some nice clearance titles from the last sales with updated prices in a bin or game such as Jade Empire, Metal Gear and Castlevania from the last sale.

I might check out sear later this week. It's raining pretty hard here in Northeast region.**cross finger**I hope they got some good stuff left over.

dont waste your time in fort wayne

all i saw was the same old games

mario party 5 25 bucks
nba street 3 ps2 20 bucks

ect

nothing new waste of time

If there's a huge 50% off sale advertised in the paper but hasn't been posted here, chances are, there's a reason why it wasn't posted here (sucks).
yep, just got back.....it blew. Nothing else was on sale besides the stuff thats been there forever.
so games that were say $25 during the clearance have not changed? i was about to shit myself at picking up the remaining 3 Baldur's Gate: DA 2s that are at the sears on garners ferry.

The good thing about this is that at least it took Sears months to advertise this clearance. Had it been advertised the first week, everyone may not have had a chance to get the games if everyone knew about it.

Sale on Apr 29 (coming Sat) only?

Spiderman 2 had already been on sale for $8.88 a couple of months ago.

Too bad my local Sears does not carry games. Sears that carry games are like 2 hours drive away

Yesterday I picked up Wario Ware Twisted for $14.97 at Sears. The price tag said $29.99 there were no signs indicating there was a sale going on. I asked one of the employees there to scan the game for me it rang up $14.97. Thanks CAG.

You described the Sears I went to yesterday except the part about quite a bit of games the one I went to only had a few games.

East Madison Sears had barely anything...the only thing was ICO, which I snagged at 9.99

The 9.99 sale is just what they've had 9.99 for the last month.... I saw titles such as windwaker, viewtiful joe, kirby's air ride...

A bust for me too. The only thing i found was 'Wrath Unleashed' for the XBX stickered at $9.97 but scanned up at $2.97.
yes, you guys are repeating deals in the original Sears thread.
eau is about the only member who has brought any new info to validate this thread. Other than that most of this can be directed to the original thread that pimp tranny eluded to. Mods you might want to merge this with the original.

So does this work towards the already clearanced games or no? Getting confused. Thanks for anyone who can help.

It's just the original clearance, except this time they are advertising it. Seems to be no new games, so most people's Sears stores won't have anything left, because the original clearance has been going on for awhile.

Having most of the games locked behind a glass case makes it difficult to do a price check too. I'm sure they would kick me out if they had to escort one game at a time to the scanner to satisfy a curiosity.

Most (all?) Sears now have aisle scanners. If you wanna know the price of a certain game, print out its barcode online and bring it to the store. You won't even have to bother an employee. :)

EDIT: Check the stickied Target clearance thread for details on printing UPCs.

Good point, but I don't usually drop by Sears for anything so there wasn't a specific reason to plan a trip with a bunch of UPCs for games that they may or may not have that I may or may not want. Impulse shopping has its pros and cons.

Maybe next time. The games I want lately are all scarce anyway since I missed all the excellent sales.

Just got back from my Sears here in Federal Way, WA. Picked up Jade Empire for $9.99, it was the only game I could remember that was BC!
