I recently did something like this with Kmart, and let's just end it with "it didn't go well". I wanted to see what you guys think of Sears. Mine was remade a couple years ago, and ever since then, i've loved going there. Just wondering if anyone else likes it/has had their store redone. Maybe it's a nationwide thing, or maybe my store just needed a fix :D. Poll, and post below if you like.

Remember: Try and be at least a little nice. I may end up showing this to them in an effort to improve their online/stores (and, y'know, get me some better deals :)).

The closest Sears to me is basically an indoor garbage dump. Going into the store is literally like walking through a portal to the early 80's. While they have new products, the store itself is just a complete dump.

As for the original question, even if they had Amazon pricing I would still just buy from Amazon because I hate the area of town that the closest Sears to me is in.

I hate big department stores in general.

I always end up getting a Sears gift card for christmas, and after about 5 years I have come to hate this gift card. there's nothing at Sears I would want to buy that I couldn't get online for cheaper, and their game section is horrible, at least at mine. they never have new releases, or MS points cards, or any decent clearance games.

Honestly i have never shopped at Sears before online or B&M.
And its not because i think its bad or anything, i just get my stuff from other stores and really Sears just doesnt jump into mind when i need something.

And as for your Amazon part in your poll Amazon is not only popular because of their pricing.
Fast shipping, free ship over 25$ or free altogether with prime, great site layout/interface, awesome customer service, no tax for most states, great deals, all that over the good prices

So Sears or any other store/site would have to match more then just price.

Hate....giftcard....is that possible?

Wow, i forgot about all that. I have Prime, so free shipping + no tax must save me a lot. Hmm....

I haven't been into a Sears in over 12 years, and I have no plans to do so soon. It would have to be a killer deal for me to go there again, just because there are much better places to shop imo.

the_punisher, you remind me of a young me, and of w00t_culaif (or whatever his name is).

That isn't a compliment, sadly.

Well, it may not be a diss either, so there's hope, right?

....right?.....

I just mean that they have a rack at every grocery store with all kinds of gift cards, how about Best Buy, or Amazon? or just email me the code. or just buy me a bottle of whiskey.

Yeah, but most people don't really know that Amazon even has giftcards (i mean regular people, not ppl on here). The third one sounded good tho;)

it depends, i'm not a big fan of sears. They don't have a huge selection like amazon. But i did manage to find a 360 hdd on clearance so I got some love for them lol. Very hard to find anything at the Sears near my house though, I think I was just lucky that time.

Sear's is ok.
I got a free copy of Odama from them.
If they didn't give me that free copy of odama I would say that sear's is crap. Mine never has new releases.

They are tied with Circuit City for my favorite place to buy games.

They have amazing clearance deals, back when Dreamcast was dying, I got Shenmue for $1.97 and at another Sears I found all Dreamcast games were $9.99, I picked up Daytona USA when it was $39.99 elsewhere.

It's amazing what I have picked up over the years, many games for $2.97 - $4.97, even a few $0.97 games like Geist for Gamecube, Official XBox controllers for $7 - $10 etc.

Before some asshat who has a flea market stand started swooping in and buying up all of the cheap clearance games/items from my local Sears, I liked them for the occasional clearance game purchase. Why? Because their employees never marked anything as being on clearance, so I could go in and cherry pick stuff at my leisure.

But since the asshole reseller from the flea market hits them every month or whenever they drop their prices, I NEVER FIND ANYTHING THERE ANYMORE. Truth be told, unless a game is on clearance or a cheap price, I won't even think about buying it anymore.

I fear that my one local Kmart is going to turn into the same kind of void for cheap games like the Sears has, since the employees started doing their fuckin jobs and clearly marked every clearance game as such now.

The Sears near me is a stand-alone building that's probably from the 1960's and the outside facade still looks like it. However, inside, it's very well kept and clean (pretty much the opposite of K-Mart).

I won't buy tools anywhere but Sears. I'm a big fan of Craftsman. The stuff just always works, and is typically designed well, and at a good price.
Sears also rules when it comes to outdoor things like lawnmowers and BBQ grills (and their respective replacement parts).

But when it comes to electronics and games, they have pretty much nothing. No deals. Nothing ever in stock. And the salespeople are all morons.

My local sears sucks...Well, we have a Sears/Kmart which has tons of games and good clearanced games(sometimes) but the other sears in the mall(Stand alone) really sucks.

i don't shop at sears, unless it's for craftsman or other lifetime guranteed merch. i always find their goods elsewhere, at a discounted price.

Bought a dishwasher from Sears, never again will I buy an appliance from them. Worst service ever. I did go back to take advantage of the $75 gas card offer though, so I'm not 100% soured on buying anything from them, just appliances.

You realize that not even Craftsman are under a lifetime warranty these days, right? They scaled it back to, I think, 25 years or so sometime last year.

I chose "Definitely not. I'd rather do it online."

I've gotten some great deals at Sears in the past few years. However, there are equally as many times I've gone and there's been nothing. The past couple times they are reorganizing again, and product was all over the place or impossible to sort through.

Some Sears are worse than useless. Most are cluttered or disorganized, and have clearance games shuffled into white label games, or behind lock and key.

The rest of the store is hopeless, though I have gotten some surprisingly nice shirts. So, as a whole, thumbs down and I'd much rather not even go in.

I hate that store. Their prices and staff are horrible. I went in there once and there was no one at the registers, and I couldn't take the game out of the entertainment section because they have alarms... Worst experience ever!

There is one close to me and the only reason I have gone in is to find popular games that sell out quickly. Nobody thinks to go to Sears so they will have WiiFit's, Mario Kart Wii, and the redesigned DS when it first came out.

There selection is not very good. Hardly anything to choose from. And it is hard to find someone to answer a question. When you do find them they have no idea about the games but can tell you a lot about the tv's behind you.

If they had Amazon prices and selection sure I would go there. Even if it was better than it is now I would go. It's the closest store to my house.
