Second shipment of ps3's

Does anyone know when stores like Bestbuy and Circuitcity will be getting ps3s after the 17th?

I just wanna get one before Christmas. I don't really want conjecture or a Ferris Bueller line; but rather a link or word directly from an employee.
 
That's a good Question. I asked my local Best Buy yesterday and they said this was the only shipment until next year. I don't think he knew what he was talking about though. But he was really nice in the conversation and was the floor lead. I'd still like to hear other opinions from those that work there.
 
Another question. Does anyone know when these retailers usually restock their inventory? It might be better to keep calling on those days and hope they have systems.
 
Well, when I called CompUSA, they said they had a couple of units, but wouldn't sell them until next week. They didn't specify a day, but I imagine it means Black Friday.

'Circuit City & TRU officials said they expect to receive more shipments of both PS3 and the Wii before Christmas. They won't know when those shipments will arrive but suggested that customers continue to check with their local stores.'

That's pretty stupid to sit on an order. The present value of money pretty amply demonstrates that a dollar today is not a dollar tomorrow, but rather a dollar and some change. You'd think they'd want the cash to reinvest...

Exactly... brilliant... keep the masses flooding into the stores so that they can buy all that other crap merchandise instead of the _one_ thing that all the kiddies are gonna want this year. Man, I wonder how much all these retailers are paying _Sony_ to keep production levels down until next year. I smell a conspiracy afoot!!

Actually you just get about one million phone calls a day asking about it, and the same people who actually come in to ask never buy jack.

As for my personal guess, I'd say def. more Wiis before Christmas, probably no more PS3s. If there are more PS3s we'll get about one shipment of 3 or 4 more and they'll be gone in less than 5 minutes, you won't even know they are there.

That is the general feeling I get whenever I talk to any employees about their shipments. I don't think any know shit about what s going on. This is quite the fiasco.
