Second Sight (PS2/Xbox/Cube) $19.99 w/dvd and 1-day ship at EBgames

Xbox or GameCube? Which shall I get? Any suggestions?
The GameCube version got a higher rating at gamerankings.com than both the PS2 and XBox version, so you know which one I would recommend. And as someone else pointed out, the GC could use the support.
The game uses 5 blocks on a GC memory card.
The choice is clear now. Thanks for the suggestions.

It appears the DVD bonus is also online only, as 4 EB B&M stores around my home do not have the bonus dvd; employees are either unaware, or said it was probably a pre-order bonus.
I'll be damn. I just bought this game last week, and not 7 days go by and it's already $10 cheaper...

Crap.

It's a great game, but I really wish I would have waited now. Ah well. I'll know better next time. :\
Solution: Check EGM, Dec 2004 issue 185, page 75. :D

I'm gonna wait for BB's stash to come down in price, then use the GGC.

How are the psychic powers handled? Is it hard to choose your target as from what I've read it automatically highlights objects you can alter in the world (auto-aim).

Are there lots of grief inducing points because of the controls?
This game is $19.99 at Gamestop B&M for all platforms.
Online, too.

Shame to see this drop in price so quickly. Partly because I could've saved an extra 10 bucks had I waited a month, of course. :? But also because it's a pretty cool game, IMHO, and it's a shame to see it be the first major casualty of this fall's season already.

Though I suspect it won't be the only worthy game to suffer that ignominous fate this year... :(

On the Xbox version, you use the D-pad to cycle through your weapons and psi powers (game auto-pauses while you select, a la MGS); hold the L trigger to auto-target whoever or whatever's in front of you; use the right thumbstick to move the targeting cursor and lock onto a different target. With weapons, you also use the right thumbstick to adjust your aim to go for those all-important headshots. 8) A highlighting circle does appear over objects you can affect with your selected power / gun, which both simplifies using the auto-aim and makes sure you don't try to waste your abilities on static objects. I presume the GC & PS2 versions work basically identically.

It can be a bit of a pain when there are multiple targets and you're trying to pick a specific one; or if you're trying to target someone above or below you. [I kinda wish there was a cycle-targets button, but that's a bit of a nitpick.] But for the most part, the controls work pretty well - I'm roughly 2/3 of the way through and I don't recall any moments of controller-hurling frustration. If anything, I half-expected to read more bitching / whining from the self-appointed hArDk0r3 gamers that the autoaim makes things a little too easy...

Well, I'd be all over this if I hadn't already done the original CAG gamestop deal, and that shit went incredibly sour, I'm still waiting for them to ship out my bonus disc as it was missing from my original order.

It's nice to see that gamestop.com made the choice painfully obvious who I should give my future business to, I'm never ordering from them again.

Fed Ex just came about an hour ago, and I played it, I like how its controlled, and the game is fun. Oh, and on the advice of NFG, I got mine for Gamecube. Get in on this deal...its worth it!

bahhh! already got it, played it and traded it in. oh well, at least i helped out the site by buying it earlier.

Okay guys, let's do the same thing as last season.

Buy the big titles, ignore the better, lesser known titles, then buy in bulk when they all hit 19, ala Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia!

NO ONE buy Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for 49! If I can't get it for 19 by January, i'll be pissed! :p

ha ha. you know, I really dont think they will need our help to make this happen. the Holidays are more crowded then I've ever seen them before. There is no way that people are going to buy everything they want.

Yep just got my Xbox version, this is a very cool game so far. The voice acting is great, the guy playing John Vattic sounds suitably weird and paranoid, and the story is pretty intriguing too. A really solid $20 game.

I thought last year's rush of holiday games was bad...but this year is much worse. Expect a TON of games to pull a 'Second Sight' on us.
