Sega Dreamcast Noise

So I just picked up a dreamcast off of ebay. It seems to play fine except it makes noise when the laser moves. Is this normal? Here's a youtube vid I found that sounds similar except mine doesn't seem as loud.

Yeah thats normal, his seems a lot louder but he probably has the microphone right on it.

Sounds just like my Dreamcast- loud and annoying, but nothing to be concerned over.

Ah, thanks for putting my mind at ease. When my ps2 started making the same noise, it wasn't long til it died out on me.

That's 100% normal. Mine has sounded like that ever since the first time I played it. It surprised me, too. It was something all of us kids talked about after school started again in the new year after we all got our Dreamcasts for Christmas.

Yeah it's normal, go and buy D2 for it and see what happens. My Dreamcast sounds like it's dying when I play that game

Or Soul Calibur. I'm still scared for my system when I play Soul Calibur on it even though I know better.

The loudness of Dreamcasts range from "kinda loud" to "wow that's annoying" but it doesn't seem to mean the DC is going to fail. Same thing with my old style 360 which sounds like an airplane taking off. But in that case it will probably break again unlike the DC.
