damn this is nice, sega racers are ALWAYS good.
Both Sega GT & 2002 were subpar.

Daytona USA CCE wasn't so great.

Scorcher was horrible.

After a long hiatus, I hope this recovers some of old Sega racing magic.

Wasn't too impressed with the demo, handling seemed really wonky.. this coming from someone who played the original Sega Rally on the Saturn to death. (and thought SR2 on DC was a travesty with the uneven framerate, although the PC version rocks with a modern PC, silky smooth)

I'd love to get a deal on this game but I'm scared until I find out if they are fixing the obvious (huge) problems..

"Wonky?"

Does the car float too much? Too sensitive? Doesn't grip the road well? Too rigid?

I wonder if they should just follow a Ridge Racer type formula; not completely rail-based like RR - just something similar.

I also found the demo's control pretty unforgiving. Granted, I didn't play too long, but it was hard to keep the car on the road.

Super sensitive, to the point of being floaty and fishtailing no matter how much or how little I was trying to turn.

This was the PS3 demo. My 360 is currently not hooked up to the internet so I couldn't check it, although my impression from reviews was both had handling problems although the linked preview earlier made it sound like the PS3 version was MUCH worse (most of what I had read made it sound like the PS3 was slightly worse).

If they fix the handling, it has a lot of potential, but the handling is so slippery I can't see myself buying it til it hits $19.99 and only then for the nostalgia-ish factor.

I played a few games on my 360 with the 'over/behind the car' angles and could not stay on the road. When I switched to the 'drivers view' I could at least place. I thought it was fun but not 'arcade' enough for me. It looks amazing but I'm not sure that is what I want with a Sega racer. I still like the Ridge Racer games...

THis is good -- EB/Gamestop should continue this sorta stuff because for the most part, I've been going with Amazon on game purchases.

It's classic Sega Rally controls...So that might not appeal to everyone, the back end of your car swings out wide, it's an acquired taste, but addictive as hell once you get into it...I played the DC version of Sega Rally to death...I've played both versions of Revo(PS3, 360) and they both control the same...I love this game...A must buy for pure arcade racing fans...I went to Gamestop to reserve and it came up as 59.99...Maybe they'll give me 10 back when I buy it, honestly, I could care less as this is the most anticipated racing title for me in years...

See, I loved the DC Version...I know a lot of people didn't but that game was magical for me...Everyone's opinion differs, definately play the demo first to see if you're a fan, I was hooked by lap 2

I think it would be OK if it turns out like SR2 for DC, but not like SR1. I actually liked SR2. The only part I disliked was the very end. If you messed up on the final race, then you had to redo the final tour to get to the 1-on-1 last race (I don't remember exactly). Total bullshit. Also, SR2 is definitely superior on the PC than on the DC.

If the game is like Shox for PS2, then I will probably pass on it until it hits $14.99. I liked Shox and beat the whole game, but I thought SR2 was much tighter.

Maybe some people on here would like Shox, considering, it's a very similar game. It's just a bit more floaty and awkward at times.

It seemed, on the PS3, MUCH "floatier" (for lack of a better word) than I remember either SR1 or SR2 (on either PC or DC). The DC's version had such a weird swinging framerate problem that it did drive me crazy (seemed to go from 30-60 at random times, and back and forth), but I did play it a lot despite that.

I really, really wish I hadn't gotten such a negative view of the game as it was a definite must-have for me as well until I played the demo.
