SEGA Retrogen $20.90-SALE at gogamer.com

Hmmm. The only thing I'd play would be Herzog Zwei. But I already beat that game twenty times and I have a big DS backlog.

I've got two shoeboxes full of Genny games, and this should work nicely at replacing my Nomad for portable Genny play. Definitely in for one at that price.
If I could find a good source for Sega carts it wouldn't be a bad thing for my 5 year old.
I'd suggest pawn shops, thrift stores, or second hand stores.
The tricky thing is that some stores don't have the words "thrift",
"second hand", or "pawn" in their names. Value Village, Salvation
Army
, Bishop's Attic, and Good Will are possible sources. They're
thrift stores. Of course, there's also eBay, Amazon Marketplace,
and garage sales.

In my area, pawn shops are going away, and being replaced
with second hand stores. Look in the yellow pages under
"second hand", "thrift stores", and possibly "pawn".
With the third one, it may be by itself, or it may be
"pawn shops". I think that they're going away because
thrift stores are becoming more numerous, and are
more people friendly. Well, at least I think that they're
more people friendly than pawn shops. I guess that it depends
on where they are.

ebay should be good spot for old games (never looked so may be wrong).
reviews on this show alot of games do not work, but the unit itself seems to be ok. With other handhelds and emulation what it is nowdays.... not sure waht to think.

No its not a nomad.

Does it matter if the carts have suffered some oxidation, on the gold-plated
chips? I have few like that, and am paranoid that if I use those, the system
may become oxidized, and then other carts will become damaged. Does it
work like that?

I really need to ebay mine before this gets any lower. Word of warning, the control pad stinks. If you're handy with tool, you may want to consider replacing it.

Picked up 2 for the lowered price. Was $47.xx shipped to VA. I already have a Nomad but saw on some youtube reviews this thing has 6 hr battery life which makes it worth retiring the old portable and using the Retrogen.

No it wont damage your console but pick up some CRC contact cleaner at your local Home Depot or some DeoxIt at your local Radio Shack and clean the carts up before hand.
With shipping it's $26.89, Amazon has it for 30 cents more ($27.19) so if you have Prime you'll get it faster.
With shipping the Retrogen is $25.89 for me.
