Finally made some good video game finds at the sales today.

Picked up a Sega Saturn today with 7 or so games and an extra controller for $5 (!) Only catch is it didn't have a cable to hook it to a TV, but I picked up a Saturn RF switch later for $3 at another house. My mouth nearly dropped open when the guy said he only wanted $5 for the thing.

At that same house (with the RF switch) there was a Saturn in a mint looking box for $30. I passed on that, but I probably should have grabbed it as finding old systems like this in nice condition boxes is near impossible. Oh well.

Also passed on a boxed Dreamcast with 10 or so games for $40. Offered $20, the lady's kid told the mom to lower the price to $30, but she wouldn't budge, so I passed on that too. Said if it didn't sell she'd be taking it to a game store to sell. (Good luck getting any decent cash for a DC and games from GS or EB lady... I probably should have given her my e-mail or number to call if/when she found out the game store wouldn't be taking it for much at all - if at all.)

And finally I picked up 8 NES games for a quarter each including a few desirables (TMNT III, Mega Man 6, Kirby's Adventure, Urban Champion)

What were the Saturn games? Complete or disk only? You could have just gotten seven sports games disk only and that still would have been a hell of a deal.
You did really well-- quarter a piece NES games? Great deal.

If that Saturn really is mint in box, and if the garage sale is back next weekend, I'd buy it if you'd be willing to pick it up for me.:D

Yeah it was in a community that is only allowed to have yard sales when the community sactions it as a whole (that's what I heard anyway) so it won't be back until next year at the earliest :)

I bet I could have gotten him to sell it to me for $20, as he dealed on the RF switch.

The Saturn games are mostly complete with a few in cardboard sleeves and labeled 'not for resale' (kiosk demos or something?) Though a few have some scratches. Virtua Cop 1+2, a Sonic game, nothing special I don't think.

Oh and the lady with the NES games was talking to some other lady as I walked up about how she had these old games that noone is ever going to want. I walked up and said "Hmm, well how much do you want for them?" She was so happy when I scooped them up for a quarter each :) She also had some Game Boy games on the same table, but she wanted $5 each for them

:whistle2:xDamn you, I paid 10x that much for my Saturn. But congrats on the nice pickups. Once it gets a little warmer I should be seeing those community yard sales again.

Has anyone run into Mega Man 6 or Star Tropics 2 at their local Kay Bee? I did about a year ago, they must of had some mad overstock when they came out/
