Select BluRay titles $17.99 @ Blockbuster

How did they bring back the late fee? You can keep the movie for seven days past the due date it's free. Return it up to 30 days after that it's 1.30. Any longer and I guess you wanted to keep it, so you do.

I was at Blockbuster earlier today and they were explaining how now every day past the due date you'll be charged 99 cents
Time to go get the copy I picked up at Sears adjusted down to $17.79 for the PM. :D
Will the $2.20 be worth the gas and the headache of lines and customer service around the holidays?
Will the $2.20 be worth the gas and the headache of lines and customer service around the holidays?
The gas isn't an issue, as I was going there anyway. The headache of the lines isn't my concern, nor is the customer service, as that's always excellent at the Sears I go to.

Your concern is noted, though isn't applicable. Thanks for the comment.

You're probably in a test market. They do this sort of stuff a lot in different areas.

It's slim pickings for now, but I just saw this on their flier. Prices are good til 1/05/09.

$17.99 Titles

:br:Black Hawk Down
:br:The Fifth Element
:br:Underworld
:br:The Patriot
:br:Hellboy II: The Golden Army

$19.99 Title(s)
:br:I am Legend

I'm pretty sure there are more lower priced titles, but I didn't have the time to go through much of the Blu Ray section tonight. I'll try to find more titles during work tomorrow.
Wish the Dark Knight was on that list.

Also, wrong forum.
Sorry, thought I was posting in the other forum. >_>

I don't think he is.

They are doing the same thing at my local store and I'm in Florida. It started in October.

Hmm, a google search doesn't show anything (seems like this might have been mentioned somewhere else?) Blockbusters website doesn't say that it's changed, but that doesn't mean anything. They don't believe in updating TOC's when they change. Maybe if I remember when I stop by this weekend at the store I used to work at, I'll ask about it.

Really glad I don't take those complaints anymore though!

Picked up Hellboy II yesterday. Had to ask for it (they didn't have any copies out on the floor, just behind the register). Thanks OP.
The late fees coming back is only for franchise stores

http://www.usatoday.com/money/media/2005-12-15-blockbuster-latefees_x.htm
Oh, well franchise stores have always been able to do whatever they want. That article is from 2005. The two stores in question in this thread are most likely franchises that just couldn't take the no late fees policy anymore and decided to try something else (or are both in test markets).

Greenbrier, VA had the last one for 17.99! The clerk was pretty sure it was 3x.99 until I had him scan it. Thanks OP! This better be a good movie, because I didn't like the first one.

Blu-ray sale at Blockbuster (very rare)...the big one is Devil Boy II for $17.99, the others at $17.99 are The Fifth Element, Underworld, The Patriot and Black Hawk Down.

You can get HellBoy II for $14.99 by letting them know that Universal is offering a $3 manufacturer's rebate. Let them know this and they'll scan it from their manufacturer holiday list barcode.

Just bought 4 of the 5 (Note: The Fifth Element is $15.00 at Wal-Mart reg. price). But anyway, interesting situation at a BB I went to.

I saw some blu-rays like Top Gun (for $19.99) and the Lost Boys ($19.99)...but asked the cashier how much they were (despite the tags having $19.99) since I heard that there were some price changes and probably they didn't have time to change the tags. There were actually a few priced wrong (I actually asked for prices for many movies since the store was a bit empty)

Well, they both rung up at $24.99 but because they were priced at $19.99, they had to honor it. So, I got them for $19.99 (note: Top Gun is on sale at Target for $19.99 right now).

Anyway, if your Blockbuster is not packed, you may want to check some of those priced at $19.99 and ask the employee to see if it's correctly priced.

NOTES:
Hellboy II is $14.99 when you tell them about the Universal Manufacturer's rebate which will give you $3.00 off the $17.99 price.
The Fifth Element is regularly priced at $15.00 at Wal-Mart

Check your stores for mispriced stuff. I bought Top Gun (Which is $19.99 right now Target) and the Lost boys for $19.99 but when they scan it...it comes to $24.99. But because they are mispriced, they have to honor it.

Other $19.99 were Troy, The Departed and a few others...I can't remember off hand.

I went to my local Blockbuster in NJ and picked up a copy of Hellboy II for $17.99! The tag on the movie said $29.99 but I had the cashier scan it and even he was surprised it rang up so low. I asked about the Universal coupon and he knew nothing about it but whatever. The price I purchased it for was good enough for me. This makes up for the hard time Best Buy gave me when I tried to price-match a $19.99 sale that Sears had a few weeks ago on the same title. Thanks for the heads up.

OooooOOOoooOOOOooo.

Feeling obnoxious and immature - sorry. =D

thanks op. went to 2 different blockbusters looking for hellboy 2 and was able to get it at the 2nd one. asked about the $3 off coupon, but the clerk had no idea what i was talking about. went ahead and bought it anyway as it was the last one at that store and i didn't feel like driving around to other blockbusters for 1 movie.

ahh was wondering about this after this weekend

Went into one Blockbuster I dont rent at looking for games for the B1G1 and while on line the two people in front of me had late fees, but the one where I normally rent (if I even bother renting anymore) still has the no late fee thing. These Blockbusters are within 5 miles of each other.

Blockbuster has good older movies for $14.99, but I think Hellboy II is the best deal they have at $18, movie is far better than Dark Knight in my opinion.

The return of late fees is no longer only in test markets. It's rolling back out nationwide with a different pricing structure.

I'm not finding anything with google. I'll have to ask my old manager next time I call.

Honestly I think if Blockbuster were more transparent with their policies and advertised changes, they wouldn't get the bad rap they do.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I loved Dark Knight...and Iron Man, and The Hulk. But I thought Hellboy 2 was easily the best super-hero movie of the year.

Is that so? If you ask me, I thought Hellboy II was the most disappointing super hero movie of the year. I haven't watched Incredible Hulk yet(even though I have it on DVD, but I didn't like it as much as the others. The best was Iron Man if you ask me with Dark Knight in second. Hellboy II was good, but it had some let downs. I kind of liked the first one better.
Top Gun SE (Blu Ray) on sale next week at Bestbuy for $14. I'll get Hellboy tomorrow if i have chance ;)
Isn't Top Gun one of the WalMart $15 BD's? Online it's $19... thought it was $15 in store though.

I got it for free with my HD-DVD player (albeit on HD not BD), and I really don't think the movie is worth more than $10 (well, most any movie actually).

Darn! I really pissed off right now. I just got Hellboy 2 Blu Ray & didn't double check it till i got home. I about to wraps it up for new year gift turn out my copy is OPENED.

I hated GS/Now i hated BB :(

Well... you could go say it's defective and you want to exchange for another copy. If it was opened, it's their fault, so I don't think that would be a bad idea.

I just got Hellboy II with some store credit I had. Strange thing is at one of the stores I went to they had a clearance sticker on it but it looks like it is just on sale.
