BTW, most should be available for in-store pickup if they are in stock, so you don't have to pay shipping if you don't want to.

Superbit deal is expires until September 3, 2005

My local BB is $uck they didn't Re-Price the STicker price & Display them in 1 location. I endup searching every single RACK & SHELVES to find it. I just pickup any SUPERBIT DVD i wanted and go to Cashier ask for Pricecheck if it $9.99 is GOOD if not I ask them take it off (Change my mind).

I don't think it hurt to ask for pricecheck.... :)

PS. If you wanted Crounching Tiger, Desperado, Fifth Element (3 packs) for $9.99 only at Bestbuy.com

Starship Troopers would be a good one to get. Damnit, more money to spend. I hate that I have most of these already but without DTS, so I have passed on most of them. Finally got The Big Hit, I have been wanting that one for awhile now.
Just ordered:

Bad Boys
Bram Stoker's Dracula
The Guns of Navarone

Thanks again.
Damn, Navarone is backordered. I should have looked for it in-store when I was there.
So this deal is dead in-store now? Can anyone else confirm?
Pittsburgh still has it (north)....as of yesterday (got heavy metal)...not sure if I want anything else...may recheck tommorrow...

It was a front of store display and didn't seem to be selling all that well.

If you really want the superbit version of panic room (because you like being tortured for 90 minutes) walmart (brick and mortar) has it for "5.50" in the bins.
Picked up Heavy Metal...

Going to have to pick up some more soon.
Whoa?! Is Heavy Metal $9.99? Dang I should have checked when I was there the other day. It had a $20+ sticker on it.

all the ones at my BB were marked 2x99. But they rang up 9.99

Yeah, I had been waiting to pick this up.. but $20+ was not a price I was too thrilled to pay. I'm glad BB decided to mark all this down, or I probably never would have got it..

The only thing preventing me from getting Spider-Man 2 is the rumored "2.5" version with additional scenes. Has anyone heard anything about 2.5 lately? I haven't seen anything since October of last year.

I may pick up The Patriot and/or Lawrence of Arabia. Still undecided.

I can vouch, sale is still going in Tampa. Picked up:

-Bad Boys II
-Spider-man
(which is hopefully an upgrade from the 2-discer, sorry but I think the original 2-discer just DOESN'T provide the surround sound experience I expect from a Spider-man flick)
-Hook (also an upgrade, I'm a Speilberg nut)

They had almost all ther others mentioned on the 1st page too. I might be picking up a handful of these for Xmas presents. Its cheap AND a good gift!

Sale is still going on. Best Buy had a giant rack with all the Superbits, all tagged at $9.99. No mention of any special sale, or when it ends though.

It ends 9/3/05

Ok, here is a nice spin on this...

Some DVD sets include superbit discs (including Leon the Professional 2 Disc Deluxe, and Fifth Element 2 Disc Deluxe) which basically give you the superbit disc, plus the extra disc with all the special features. The DVDs are marked as superbit on the back, and will not ring up for $9.99, they will ring up for $19.99. Unfortunately for Best Buy, they have a printed ad in a "Summer DVD" magazine that you can find in the DVD section that says "These titles, and ALL other superbit titles only $9.99!" and you can get them to price adjust the more expensive sets down.

I did this yesterday and picked up the Fifth Element DE 2disc for $10.

Everything I got yesterday for $9.99 each....

Snatch 2 Disc Superbit
Cirque de Soleil Superbit
Fifth Element 2 Disc Deluxe Edition
Dark Crystal Superbit
Labyrinth Superbit
Scarface 2 disc

had to do some convincing, but I managed to score leon:de for $10. the 'media associate'(?) tried arguing that it was only for select titles even though the magazine clearly says 'ALL' titles. they then had to call the manager over who manually adjusted the price after scrutinizing the ad for couple of minutes. I was considering the fifth element as well, but I didn't really care for the film from what I've seen of it.

BTW, the ad is inside their new 'DVD Insider' promotional magazine, they had a bunch at my stores. It just came out this week and it has a college motif. here's the actual superbit ad inside on page 5:

also, you can use this for bargaining leverage.

punch drunk love(which is definitely in the sale) doesn't come in an obnoxious superbit case and has it's superbit ID in more-or-less the same place as leon, on the back lower right hand corner. you can also reference panic room and spiderman 2.

I've found it easier to try it very early in the morning, or right before closing time.

The employees just seem to be in better moods, or are too dead tired to even bother saying no.

Definitely get Lawrence. I'd get it if I didn't already own it. Leave the Patriot on the shelf. It's a waste of precious plastic.

Great find, I ordered Charlie's Angels, Blackhawk Down, and Fifth Element off their website a little while ago (still $9.99 each). DTS is going to be sweet on my new system.
