Sell me on Dreamcast.

CAGiversary!
I'm a long time gamer and until recently have never owned a sega system other than Game Gear. I recently bought a genesis and regret not getting it 10 years ago. I've got some totally awesome games that I'm really getting into.

I have alll 3 new gen systems and everything Nintendo put out. Due to the joy I'm getting from my Genisis, I'm contemplating a dreamcast purchase. I kinda feel like I might be misssing out on something by not getting one. What do you guys think? Are there like totally awesome games for it? (not big on RPG's). Is another system overkill ? how many of you still jam on your dreamcast that own new gen systems?

dreamcast is my favorite system...i think it has many great games youd have to experience like shenmue. not to mention was the first console with online gameplay so that was a biggie for me. it was also very helpful for me back then as i did not have a computer and was my only way of getting online....

i still use it to this day because you can do so many things with this system be it emulation or playing movies. i also still play online every now and then

Hehe, I was wondering who would get to it first, guyver or Casey.

If you like fighting games, then holy crap it's an amazing system. This fall though XBOX will have some of the best 2D fighting games available for DC, and they'll all be online. Now if we could just get an XBL Mark of the Wolves...

I just got back from shopping (went to get a couple of games and forgot my CC)

I have like 25 games for the system and think that it has some of the best games ever. Shenmue hands down is one of the best experiences I have ever had(played both games back to back, even skipped a day of school to finish 2). 40 hours in like 5 days, yea I was addicted.

aside from that the fighting games are amazing and most of the games can be found for chea  p

yea i have like a bunch of dc games....there was a point in my life i would go every weekend to buy a new game for it...this was when it first went online

they had pretty good fps's.

quake 3 arena and ut tournament were like the best, also outrigger was pretty good.

still play quake to this day.
you can get a KB/M which is nice
yea i used the kb alot for pso... i hAVE the mouse 2 but eventually i got so good at quake that i just used the pad

Still have my dreamcast hooked up in case the urge ever washes over me to play Street Fighter 3, but I mean besides that and Berserk I really don't play it. Though mostly because I did it to death back in the day, i'll agree on Shenmue, if you own a dreamcast then Shenmue should be in your hands.

Also I played Gundam Side Story a lot , first person gundam game set during the 0079 timeline, short but very sweet. Overall I recommend getting rhe system, games are dirt cheap for it now and getting a solid collection going should be fairly inexpensive.

It's definately worth getting, imo, even if just for posterity's sake. It's an awesome system, even not considering its multitude of great games. And at such low prices, it can't be beat, man.

You can get the console and a good dozen great exclusive games for pennies on the dollar of the original cost. Not to mention the many superior versions of many multi-platform games of the PSone/N64 generation you might not have played yet.

How can you possibly go wrong?

you can also hook up the sytem to a VGA monitor and get amazing visuals. Also you can play, NES, SNES and some PSX games on the system. And soon you'll be able to play Genisis & GBA games too.
