Selling Laptop for a Premium PS3

First this isn't an advertisement! Just wanted to make that clear before this thead gets locked. I had orignally bought a Dell Laptop cuz I had a $1,500 card with them collecting dust for a few years. Then this guy at my job had a brand new Toshiba 17in laptop and wanted to get rid of it, so i bought it for around $600. I checked it out online and turns out it's worth $900-1000. In light of the new Duo Core 2 laptops it's value is slowly falling. It's still a mobile Pentium 4 3.4ghz though.

So anyway as soon as I get my digital cam repaired I'm going to sell it on ebay for $700. Hopefully I can get it sold i've only used the thing 4 times so it's pratically brand new. Then I can use the money to plop down on a new PS3 it they aren't sold out. Though something tells me they won't be sold out, unless they're another 'mysterious shortage' like with the PS2.

Anyway this is how I hopefully plan on paying for my PS3. That laptop has been sitting in the box for almost 2 months now and i'm sure someone can make use of it. Honestly I'm looking forward to RE 5 (yes I know it's comming to Xbox360 as well), Tekken 5, Devil may Cry 4 and Killzone 2. ....so many sequels.
 
Ebay? Just be very very very cautious.

You are at great risk of getting scammed when you put a high ticket item like that $900 laptop of yours for sale. read up on ebay scammers and how not to get scammed.

With a laptop like yours, I'm willing to bet you're gonna have to use escrow services(unless you sell it to a trusted CAG, of course). Make sure just to use Escrow.com. don't let people haggle you into using other sites because it's most likely a scamming site.

Just put in the auction that you only accept Money orders/Western union for payments.

Thats what i always do if im selling something for more then 100 bucks.
 
Just wanted to update I just sold the laptop for $811.81 so my 60gb PS3 is as good as mine with a game and whatever else! I hope everyone else is able go find some way to ease the price off their PS3's. The price is steep I can only hope we aren't fed the same unfulfilled promises from the PS2. Anyway just wanted to give an update to anyone who was interested. And yes they didn't screw me I got the money immediately afterward.
