Semi-OT: What's the trade-in value of a PSP???

CorruptionDee

CAGiversary!
What are Gamestop and EB Games giving for a PSP System. I haven't been able to find out anywhere, and I haven't had a chance to go inside any of the stores to find out. My friend says gamestop gave him $175 trade-in value for the system alone, but he's in Florida. I wanted to know whether or not there's any truth to his claim.

I believe they give $170 last time I checked. But your best bet to find out is to do what you are going to be told by several others....

CALL THEM!!!

I traded in my PSP, last week, GameStop $170.00 in credit.
I would highly suggest trading in your PSP NOW!
The prices will probably fall during the holidays and with a price drop comes a greater drop in trade-in value.
I would suggest, Trade in your PSP, buy a DS, if you dont have one, and pre order Mario Kart, Metroid, Animal Crossing, or you could keep that PSP and preorder .... nothing.
why would you want to trade in your PSP? I will never sell mine~ maybe it got problems with yours?
Only thing i can think of other than this, is that it might be stolen. And I believe they give cash back now... *I never traded in games/consoles so I wouldn't know*

Let me just say that because someone wants to get rid of a piece of shit like a PSP to get something worth having, they are not a thief. Sony would be the theif, stealing our $250 and giving of the PSP, which is useless.

Good Day

*ROLLEYES* I hope you and your buddy are kidding, because it would be completely ignorant of either of you (or anyone else for that matter) to even imply that I would like to sell my PSP "because it's stolen". Did it ever occur to that perhaps I'm dissatisfied with the system as a whole? Or that maybe I own two PSPs (One Japanese version and one US version) and since I almost never touch the device, I figured I'd sell one, while the demand is still high, so that I could purchase something that I do plan or using, like peripherals for the Xbox 360 and games. Both of these statements are true. The system is collecting dust, and I don't see why I'll be using it on a daily basis to play with some of the "fabulous games" it has to offer in the foreseeabble future. I have an MP3 player, so i don't need another one. The same can be said about the movie playback abilities of the system.
I'm thinking of selling my PSP as well. But why, oh why, did I purchase a warranty for it. :dunce:
Because it's a Sony product... especially one within' the first 6 months from it's release.

what is the problem for a Sony product? Sony is stylish and it rocks~ I love their products. for the ones who said because it was expensive so they are selling it, isn't that contradicting? you will lose even more money by trading it in.

anyway, trading in something that is with defects to the market is very irresponsible

:lol::lol: :rofl:

Maybe this guy is one of the CSRs that infiltrates boards that was brought up in a recent topic.

1) Early run Sony hardware has been known to be of poor quality. Look at the high number of DRE 'first edition' PS2s, and the problems with the square button, among other things, on the PSP.

2) Selling while its still expensive and cutting his losses before a price drop occurs is smart; holding on to it and not using it for another year and then trading in for $50-100 less isn't.

3) He never said it was defective, just that he was unhappy with it.

Please think before you post. Thanks.

I bet you, you dont even have a psp and if you think the psp is a piece of shit you have problems.

I sold mine a few months back for several reasons. The first reason was that I never felt comfortable carrying the system around. I worried about it getting damaged more than I enjoyed playing it. The second reason was for the games. I saw the games coming for the DS and PSP and had to decide which ones I wanted to play more. DS won hands down. One other reason was that I hated the disc drive. Trying to play/watch it in bed while my wife was trying to sleep wasn't working. The thing was too loud and it took way too long to even get into a game because of loading screens. It is an awesome piece of hardware, it just didn't fit into the realm of what I consider portable gaming.

I asked the people at Gamestop what they were giving a week or two ago while I was waiting in line. They said $100 cash, $175 credit. Wonder if that coupon for upping trade-in values works? Or was that just a for games coupon? I've forgotten now.

Personally, I think Sony made a big mistake marketing to only the already interested gamer. Most gamers have issues already stated, and they are much pickier about titles and such. The other aspects of the device would have been very appealing to non-gamers, business travelers, those who want an MP3/video player with extra capabilites, yet very little was marketed toward them.

I'm thinking of trading in mine also, simply because I want to get a white one and everybody I know that I could sell it to has one.

Yeah... but I got lucky this time, my PSP has absolutely no dead pixels/frozen pixels.
did a credit trade for one yesterday, it was 170$ still. The guy bought a BlueDS/Castlevania/Trama Center. I chuckled
