Seperate 60 gb HDD soon?

CAGiversary!
Yea, I was wondering if there was any word on there being a seperate 60 gb HDD. I wanted to just get an Arcade with a 60 gb HDD, but I searched GS and they don't have one listed. So, anybody hear anything on this yet?

Ethernet cable? Are they are going to be offering a free transfer cable for people who buy these? Or are people going to have to go the eBay route for a transfer cable still?

$99? :whistle2:k
That's not too bad. That leaves opportunity for a decent sale price or when a coupon is applied. I don't think $99 is too bad either, considering it is a Microsoft product and it's usually 3,000x more expensive then shit should be

That's a good question. Hopefully they'll at least have a free-by-mail cable like they did for the Elite.

I would like to know this as well.:whistle2:k

Below is a portion of an email being sent out to GameStop and Blockbuster buyers (logistical people handling what the store actually stocks). The email has the complete details on the 60gb hard drive and what will happen to the 20gb and 120gb hard drives. Email follows:
With the introduction of the 60GB Pro console in July, we have research that suggests it is very important to have a 60GB stand alone Hard Drive to go along with it to allow the consumer a full range of choices and values. In late October/early November (exact date TBD but most likely last week in October or 1st week in November), we will ship the Xbox 360 60GB Hard Drive, tentatively called the “Xbox 360 60GB LIVE Starter Pack”. This will be an excellent value price at and ERP of $99.99 with an 18% retail margin that contains:

· 60GB Hard Drive
· 3 Months of Xbox Live
· Xbox 360 Wired Headset
· Xbox 360 Ethernet Cable (same one that is included with Pro and Elite)
Positioning: For Xbox 360 Arcade and Core console owners, the Xbox 360 60GB Live Starter Pack offers all of the components to get onto Xbox LIVE and jump in to on line multiplayer gaming and Marketplace content downloads at an incredible value.
With the end of life of the 20GB Hard Drive and the price drop of the 120GB Hard Drive to $149.99 in September, this new 60GB hard drive will fit very well into our “Choice and Value” pillar and will fit nicely into our accessory line up. Exact SKU/UPC/Set up info will come soon and once we nail down the exact MSD, I will let you all know immediately. ---
So do the 120gb HDD's not have transfer cables?
I believe they do if you buy them separately at retail. They are not included if you buy an Elite, although you can call MS and have them send you one for free.

Oh wait. I didn't see that the 120 will drop to $150...which means with a good coupon/sale it could eventually be found for cheaper...:whistle2:k

GRRR this is annoying.

I'm kinda wondering when the 120gb HDD will drop to $150 as well. The closer I can get that to $100 the better, although still a major ripoff.

I think buying the Arcade and then buying this pack is the best option. You'll get a memory card, the Live Arcade disc, more months of Live, and an extra headset (I think).

They were $150 as of yesterday at Gamestop. Maybe it was Tuesday. Either way, it is $150 now.

The Arcade unit doesn't come with component cables. Official ones are $40 I think. But if you're going HDMI anyway, it wouldn't be bad.
