Shadow 6 PS3 wireless controller for $29

I believe the six refers directly to this variation of the controller adopting the Six Axis feature. The previous iteration was only named Shadow wireless controller with rumble and did not feature the Six Axis motion control according to what I've read.
 
I've been meaning to pick this up... but I'm not buying a 3rd party controller w/out a worry free warranty. Anybody have any advice on squaretrade, and these controllers?
 
I grabbed one the last time it was the deal of the day and I hated it

It's got a HUGE dead zone, well ok it's probably an 8th of an inch but an 8th of an inch is horrible when you're trying to play a game.

It would be a very good controller if it didn't have a dead zone.
