SHadow Hearts Covenant out of print?

I tried picking this up in store at gamestop since the price just droped and called several locatioins. They said they're all out and wont be receiving new copies!
 
From the auctions on eBay that have recently ended w/o BIN, it looks like this game might be increasing in value. I don't think it has been going for $40+ until now, has it?
 
Call an EB and have them look it up in their system. It will have a letter code for it's status in the listing. D means it is discontinued.
 
If that's discontinued already, then there probably won't be anymore Shadow Heart games. It sure is great not buying a game until it's cheap!

didn't the first one get discontinued and then rereleased as a promo copy for pre-ordering the 2nd one? so there still could be hope for another shadow hearts.

That was to help boost the sales for this one...which, evidently, didn't work too well.

It's a great game, so I suggest you get it if you're intereted in it. I still see it in stores, but that was before the recent drop to $30. It's weird how hard to find SH1 is, you'd think you'd find PO'd copies all over the place from the whole pre-order deal.

It's probably because a lot of places don't like to take promo copies of games.
I see used copies fairly frequently, but they're always $30 or $40. Luckily I found a copy at Circuit City this summer :D .

Good point......Did the Preorder copy come in a full case or some cardboard sleeve? Just curious.

I got mine at Fry's and it was the full case.

The preorder disc was in the same packaging as the original shadow hearts BUT there are several differences, most notable is the Promotional copy only not for resale printed on the front. Other differences are the red midway symbol is missing from the spine and of course the upc is different. Hope that helps.
