Didn't see this on the forums...

Went to get PGR4 for the 360 for $19.99 (they had it!) and saw Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) for $14.99. The box they had on the shelf (that was empty) was the original, non-GH box - but I failed to ask to see an actual game box. Worth a look if you're there.

It's also available online, but I don't think they have free shipping....

Yeah, I saw that too and I wasn't quite sure if I should pick it up. I already completed it when I rented it, but I think I want to play through it again. It is an amazing game though...

I picked up the last 2 copies of PGR4 at my local Radio Shack (1 to keep 1 to trade...hopefully) as well as Shadow of the Colossus due to the original box being displayed. When the clerk got the games from the back, it was in fact the Greatest Hits version with the red label. Oh well, I've yet to hear a bad thing about this game.

Not to hijack my own thread - but for the folks who have played it, what the hell am I doing wrong that I can't get passed the first colossus? I cannot for the life of me hang on (and get crushed every time). I actually gave up on the game because of it, but would really like to play it.

And no, I don't generally suck at games - but I'm missing some basic mechanic to the game...

I don't know it has been awhile but as I recal I did not have to many issues with the first one its just a simple climb your ass off and move with him lets say him walking is causing you to turn upside down or something just move quick to counter that "think back to mario games with the rotating platforms lol.

Exactly I think there is one on the leg that takes him down for a shot period of time and allows you to get higher up and hit his main weak point.

i must emphasize his point. this game gets more challenging and funner at the later bosses. my friend and i played the demo over and over just to see who can beat that first boss the fastest :bouncy:

YMMV, but I got shadow of the colossus GH for 9.98 at target. $14.99 is pretty good too...beat paying $17.99 used from gamestop.

Are you holding down the grab button? R1 I think.

U have to "hold" the R1 button, just like you would "hold "onto the colossus, or "hold" onto a pencil.

You are not the first person to complain, as unlike most games, SotC actions are not invoked with a button press, but rather, your action must mirror the action onscreen -- think Wii-mote without the waggle.

Funny, but Destructoid just posted an essay on this -- link coming later.

Shadow of the Colossus has been $10 at Toys R Us for about a month now for anybody still looking for this. It doesn't seem to be too big a seller though as my local store still has about five copies in stock (original and greatest hits varieties).

these should be on clearance at target... ymmv, i picked one up there for $13.98 yesterday. black label also. :D

Game could use a remake on the PS3 or 360... It looked beautiful back in the day, but when I played it a couple of weekends ago, it looked horrible. Did not age too well. :)

Still, a game every gamer should have in their library. One of the best experiences last generation.

Is this everywhere, or YMMV? I would like to pick up a second copy for my kids when they are old enough to play.
