Looks like we will be seeing Shadowrun this year at E3

I was excited for this until EGM's rumor dude reported they changed it from rpg to a standard fps and the graphics were looking very xbox 1.

Hopefully this game kicks ass though, and comes with the 16 bit version ;)

Man don't care if it's poop on a stick.

Shadowrun for the Genesis is perhaps the greatest single player experience I've ever had. Long live the Street Samurai!

WHAT!? I was a huge fan of Shadow Run for the Genesis, if this game turns out to be good, I'm buyin it, and a 360 in the same day.

I loved the game on Genesis, it gets the most play on my PSP out of any game I have, emulated or not. I was so hoping for a MMORPG on the 360, but I can see this being totally different from the source material, i.e. Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, that would royally suck. Two great older games, that maybe ruined in their transition to the newer consoles.
Never heard of it. I'll wait for previews.
You really owe it to yourself Linkin to atleast find some way to play Shadowrun for the Genesis. Even if you have no experience with the Pen and Paper RPG, it'll give you a good idea for the world et all. It is truely an excellent game, as long as you don't mind reading

Okay, I missed out on the 16-bit game, but hear nothing but amazing things about it. So I'm hoping that this game has the original as unlockable content or even just put in there. I'd hate to have to try and hunt down the old version...

FPS, oh for the love of pete. I think the XBOX has enough of those. If its anything but a RPG, I don't see it being any good.

Vive Le Genesis version!

I could see it being pretty awesome as a FPS with some sort of RPG hybrid behind the character creation/development (ala System Shock, or perhaps more current, BioShock).

How cool would it be to fire off 300 rounds at a horde of Ghouls and Vampires, only to flip out your Cybernetic Spurs and activate your Neural Reflex capacitors as you tear into them like Wolverine Berzerker style.

Hmm, perhaps you're right, the genesis version was pretty heavy on the action, putting it in a first person view wouldn't be a bad idea, maybe something like Oblivion. As long as its still open-ended, and still have the cyber-space combat system and I can steal information and then sell it...I'll atleast try it out.

Yes I've got much love for it as well. If only it looked as good as the SNES version and it would've been perfect. I still wanna try the Sega CD version. THAT version they should include on this one as WELL as the Genesis one.
I can't believe there is no one rushing to defend the SNES version, which is by far the superior version

You are joking right? I have both and while I like the SNES it's graphics only. Sure it's got some cool stuff but there is definitely more depth in the Genesis version and a bigger variety of things to do.

I'm with him (as if it weren't already apparent). The Genesis version has much more for the player character to do, and gives you enough choice to do whatever it is you'd like. Hack the Matrix, you can do it. Rock mad crowds with Shotguns and Cybernetically-enhanced martial arts. You can do it.

The Genesis version's combat kinda sucked though and it took forever to build your character, even with the cheat codes. I loved the game, but I could see why anyone would think the SNES was the better version.

I'm with him. They both are good, but I always felt the SNES version was better. I just couldn't fall into the Genesis version as well.

Now I'm on the fence about this one. I'll definately have to try a demo first to see if it's what I want in the game. I'm not really looking forward to it being and FPS.

This is the only way it would be awesome, even more so if it was open ended like Oblivion.

I would think something like the Genesis version in terms of having most of Seattle, some of the outlying wilderness, and everything availible. I could also see it being good as part of one of those "Longer Runs" in the actual Pen and Paper RPG. I suppose it would help more if I actually knew where in the game world it was taking place.

There is plenty of long story arcs to use, most of them pretty good.

Oh well here's hoping, maybe we'll find out more at E3
