Share The Love is DEAD at Amazon.com

Weak. I wish I'd taken advantage of it more than a few times now. I guess in the end they were losing money on it, too much to offset to the increased business.
 
I'll miss it for sure. I only wish I had known about it sooner, but for me it was one of those ubiquitous things that I never even bothered researching until it was essentially thrust in my face. I was the same way with the GGC (it was always around at BB, but until I came here, I always thought "why bother with a GC, just give money, it is less limiting". I had even seen the coupon on the back, but it never registered with me).

I saved a bunch of money on DVDs with STL, especially when combined with the Fox season 1 deals, and a book or two (Far Side Collection). I sent out a bunch too, but only one person ever made the purchase from it (I'm sure they used STL from other ppl for their purchases). I guess I'd better redeem my dollar soon.
 
No more Amazon for me.

I encourage everyone to e-mail Amazon expressing your disapproval of this decision. Maybe if enough of us revolt they will bring STL, or something similar, back.
 
Seems like an odd thing to boycott Amazon over to me.

Basically they raised their prices on anything you could have pulled a STL for, so just price compare with that in mind.

weak.....i saved and helped people save in the past with that....

got x-files season 1 for 31.50.....great deal...oh well

deepdiscountdvd.com is often cheaper than amazon.
 
^^ I just ordered from ddd I hope to get it soon if so I will order more from them....I never used that share the love or received any so meh..........
 
I've placed a handful of orders with DDD and haven't had a problem yet.

The main knock I've heard on them is that it can sometimes take a very long time to get your order. But I haven't personally had that problem.
 
Hmmmm...if it's dead, it's not dead yet. I just got Porco Rosso and Nausicaa dvds ordered for roughly $18 each with the STL discount. It's cheaper than ddd's $21.59 price.
 
Damn that sucks. I've used it many times with friends. The discounts weren't stellar or anything, but still they were nice.

I wouldn't say I've had any OVERT problems with them.. but the orders come piecemeal sometimes.... bit by bit.

And if you have to exchange one like I did, it's gonna take a while. By the time I sent it back and they returned it, a month had almost gone by.

If what you ordered is backordered, it can take a while, especially around the 20% off deals, and Christmas. But when they do fill your order, it's pretty quick.

Meh. We'll see. I ordered MacGyver today- let's see how fast after the rush is over.

Which, btw, for the price of convenience is the cheapest. They've got it for 26, with tax 27 for me. CC had the lowes B&M price at 25, but i figure with tax and YMMV, not to mention the fact the two in NYC closest to me had deer-in-the-headlight looks when I asked if they had copies (which they didnt) , DDD is the winner. Now all I have to do is wait for it to show up at work soon.
