Thanks OP. I was actually at Gamestop looking for this game today since my friend gave me a gift card for Christmas but my local GS cleared out their entire PSP section.
 
My GS had this Sunday but it was still marked 30. I'm really tempted, this will be my 5th PSP game and I don't even own a PSP.

If you plan on buying a psp then you might as well pick up P2 now. This is probably the cheapest you are going to be able find it new. The original Persona is still $40 or more in most places.
 
crap I need this. Just got 1 and 3 over gamestops B2G1 I didn't get 2 because it was marked at $39.99 used which was the same price as new.

Sucks I'm not going to catch this deal in time.

I've always wanted to play these games but I don't have a PS2 or a backwards PS3. Is there any other way to play them? They are not on the PSN store that I can see.

Talking about this game or just the Persona series? This game is PSP. If you looking to play the series, PSP has a remake/port of Persona 1, 2 (this game) and 3 (originally a PS2) game. Though you'll have to buy a PSP or a Vita. There is also a Persona 4 port coming to Vita. Original Persona 1 did come out on PS1 so you can play that on your PS3, but it's a collector and pricey. Same thing for Persona 2 Eternal Punishment (Persona 2 is a two parter). It's on PS1, but will cost you.

For Persona 3 and 4, you will need a PS2. You can find them cheap now so if you really want to play this game and a few other good PS2 RPG, I suggest hunting a system down. That or other methods on your computer...won't speak of it though.

I had a PS2 years ago and played most of the great RPG's, but it malfunctioned and I never bought another one.

That's too bad about a PS2 and PSP being the only way to play them. Maybe someday they will come out on PSN or on discs in a pack. I've heard nothing but great things about them and am currently in the mood for a new RPG series but I already have a 360 and PS3.
 
I jumped on this deal and persona 3 was they were both $20 each. Good price and it comes with a soundtrack disc
 
Looks like persona 4 (PS2) is $40 used at gamestop! lol they sure like to jack prices up. I picked up a new copy for $20 2 yrs ago, if I recall...

I got #1 and #3 over the b2g1 also. At the time the used price on #2 was $39.99 same price as new. On Monday the used price dropped to $29.99
and now yesterday it dropped to $17.99. I took sonic& SEGA all stars racing as my free game and didn't get #2 because of the price.

I called gamestop now to do an exchange since its equal or lesser value which I can do but it has to be in store. Can't do the exchange over gamestop.com. Which kind of screws me I think there is only one used copy local to me. Also not sure if ill get to it during the sale of #2.

The price on #3 dropped $5 bucks as well and it hasn't even been a week since the weekend b2g1.

On my order for b2g1 I paid $29.99 for #3 and now a few days later its $24.99. Now i can live with a $5 dollar price drop but it seems as if they mark up sought after games right before the sale then drop the price right after.


I watched gamestop.com inventory all through the sale during the weekend. Before the sale started there was about 45 used RPGS in stock. Once the sale stared it went to 32 RPGS on the PSP in stock and as soon as it ended it went back to the 45. I know its probably people just buying said games then they reget stock to list them but it seems so fishy.
 
On a slight tangent, Persona 3 for PSP is 26.99 new on Amazon right now if anyone's looking for it. It's 24.99 used / 29.99 new at GS.
 
I found persona 1 for psp to be a complete and utter bore, but I like persona 3 and 4. Worth picking up?

I actually really hated persona 1. Just couldnt stand the pacing and 1st person dungeons.

I am the opposite of you. I hated Persona 3, and found it to be a utter snooze fest. I love Persona 1 because it has a charming quality about it. Something that 3, and 4 did not have.

Agreed, there's just something about teenagers pointing to the sky and yelling PERSOONNA, that makes Persona 1 so magical.

Also it has one of the best Persona girls ever, Elly ftw.
 
Got one myself today. Almost bought it a few weeks ago at $30. Glad I waited. The Gamestop I went to must have had 4 or 5. Said they got about 4 in yesterday.

Ordered one. Sweet I been refreshing the page like every hour or so since it went on sale. Happy to get it new hope it comes with soundtrack.

A customer service rep gave me a $10 off coupon for my troubles so i got it for $14.36 shipped.

That is what got me into Persona in the first place. I never played any of the games until someone told me about that. I had to see it to believe it... Bought #3, and have been hooked on not only Persona, but all SMT games.

Quick note for those who want it for collectors reasons, I saw that some of the copies are gutted when I picked mine up last night. If you are opening it anyways, doesn't matter too much... But still...

I like all of the Persona games. I got into the series through P3FES, then P4 and jumped into the PSP ports of 1 and 2:IS. I take them for what they are. Though I personally favor P2:IS and P4 a little more. I only played P2:IS a little just to gauge how the port was handled. Definitely was planning on buying it before, but the price killed it for me. Thankfully, having a PSP that uses UMDs pays off again.
 
Anyone know if they have a current free shipping code?

(I ask now because normally someone posts a code with 24 hours of when I order and pay for shipping.)

Still debating if I should get this. I did miss out on Eternal Punishment when it was reprinted at Gamestop years ago. Wish Eternal Punishment gets ported to the PSP or uploaded to the PSN.

I couldn't get myself to play through the first Persona game on the PSP. I have a feeling that this Innocent Sin will be a big improvement over the first game.

It really is. I imagine that EP will eventually get a Vita release, since they didn't pack it with IS due to the UMD space limits (I imagine they wanted to put both on one release but settled with IS).
 
Pretty sure this game is on PSN (for $40) and will go half off at some point. (And I have a PSP Go that I prefer over my 3000). That's why I haven't jumped on it. Still finishing P3P, and got P1 in the queue.

P1 and P3P are *still* $40 on PSN. Don't hold your breath on price drops. There's a reason people hated the Go's digital-only scheme besides the smaller library.

They're $40 now, but both have been on sale for $20 in the past, and I'm sure Persona 2 will also eventually be on sale for the same price.

My copy just arrived by mail. Is the box supposed to be sealed with 2 clear circular stickers? It looks like mine has been tampered with because it has dents and fingerprints all over it.
 
I watched the clerk pull mine from a locked drawer. There were about 5 in there. The box has the circular stickers, but otherwise it is mint. I assumed the stickers were the factory seal.

Guys its suppose to me like that. Watch youtube videos of the unboxing.

Only the actual game itself is supposed to be sealed. Not even the soundtrack is wrapped. I thought it was gutted as well but those seals are factory seals not gamestops.
 
No fingerprints or dents on mine but my soundtrack wasn't sealed either so I guess that's how the manufacturers sent it out. I wonder if this was the reason that Amazon had to inspect their inventory for this game.
