Shining Force for Genesis and PS2?

How similar is Shining Force on the PS2 compared to the Shining Force on Sega Genesis? I love Shining Force for Genesis but dont have a Genesis game system anymore, but I do have a PS2 system. Not sure if they are completely different types of games.

PS2 games are action rpg's... completely different beasts.
 
Thanks. That's all I needed to know. Do you know if they will be putting Shing Force on a Sega Collection Game for the PS2 since they left it off the first one?
 
It wouldn't surprise me to see it show up in the second or third collection.

There was also a remake of the first game by Atlus on the GBA, but I didn't like it for some reason.
