I had this guy asked me to ship to a different address than the one he had in his PayPal, he said he forgot to edit the address. Even the recipient name is different.

Does this sound fishy?

I'd probably play it safe and tell him if he wants it to be sent to a different address, you'll invoice him again through Paypal and cancel his original payment. It might be a hassle, but it'll get him to add the address to the Paypal address. That is assuming it's his.

Sounds really fishy to me, if you send it he can claim he never received it at his verified address/name and you will likely lose the claim. I would honestly tell him to get it fixed on Paypal before you send or offer a refund so you don't get screwed on both whatever you sold and the money.

if it is not too expansive and the buyer has good feedback, i'd say it is ok

but know that if buyer files a Item not received claim, you can kiss your item and money goodbye.

Yeah, make him fix it/verify in Paypal, then send him a new invoice.

How different is the address? Completely different part of the country? Is the name completely different too?

Same state, but different town, and the recipient name was a different one too.

It was odd in the beginning, when he asked me to remove the "immediately payment required" cuz he cannot pay me right away.

Can I ask what state, only because I just had someone do the same thing w/ me - to Pennsylvania. Want to make sure it's not the same guy...

Confirm with email and then wait until you receive payment. A lot of time people are buying games for others. Happens with me all the time when I sell games. Just dont ship out until you receive the payment and transfer it over to your account. And in order to be protected by Paypal seller protection, make sure you get in contact through email and confirm address before shipping out so you have a record of it for yourself. Otherwise, not fishy at all.

Like I said before, lots of people buy games for other people, and in some cases people have multiple address under different names on the same account in the same home, and they switch to non confirmed accounts without switching to the confirmed address just so they dont have to change the confirmed address information. Just make sure to cover your ass with confirmation from him the address is right and youre okay. And whatever you do, just dont ship out until payment is received. Buyer is allowed at least a few days before payment generally.

I told him to edit his paypal address, and could only ship to the address shown in his paypal.

Now, should I wait for his reply, or just ship to the address in his paypal?

Wait for a reply - I wouldn't try to fuck him over if he already wants you to ship someplace else.

^^ This, or request a check/money order. Did the message come via the paypal payment email? Or a separate email? If paypal can verify the request directly from their end maybe, still- I wouldn't do it.

Make sure to get the email and he pays. You need to have some way to make sure you safeguard yourself if he does want it shipped to a different address. Changing it would of course make it safer, and if you can wait, just wait for him.
