Shipping an item less than $5?

All right so I am trying to mail this item using USPS that weighs about 2.5 pounds and the dimensions are 12 x 9 x 4 inches. It doesnt qualify for first class because its way over 13 oz so im using priority. I calculated the rate and it comes out to $7.41?! Is there any way I can reduce this cost? Btw, I am shipping a brand new Kodak digital frame p720.

Parcel post, however if you are paranoid you'll just have to suck it up and ship it with priority.

Parcel Post isn't worth the savings (which will likely be under $0.30).

ehh true. guess i have no choice but to ship priority. they have raised up their rates for the last 2 years.

It depends on how far you're shipping it; priority would cost me something like $2.70 more than parcel if I shipped an item of that weight to California. Also check out the weight of your box, that can sometimes add another pound (knocking you back $3.80 or so for choosing priority over parcel).

That's the attitude that's helping USPS to fail. Just do the right thing and pay what you're supposed to.

You are sending a $60 item and you want to risk using media mail to save $2?

You could try bubble wrapping it and stuffing it in a flat rate envelope.

Have you checked UPS/Fedex rates? They're usually a bit higher, but I think there's a couple ranges where they beat USPS.
