Shipping from one GameStop to another...

I remember reading a reply of someone stating that you can request a shipment of a certain video game from one GameStop location to another. Can someone explain this in more detail? Like...would the GameStop receiving the game call me when they get the transfer so that I can pick it up?

I did a recent check of the GameStops in my area within a 100 mile radius. And there are quite a number of PS1 titles that I would like to get my hands on, but don't feel like driving all that far just to get them. Koudelka, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, Star Ocean: The Second Story, Brigandine, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, Torneko...granted, I don't know if they're complete or not. But once someone tells me how I would go about making a request of shipping a game from one GameStop location to another, then I'll make the call.

YMMV, when I inquired about this issue on the phone this is what I was told:

"It depends on the manager of the store that has the game you want. If he/she agrees to ship it to the GS of your choice then we will accept it on your behalf."

Not surprisingly, I have not found a GS manager that's been willing to transfer games out of their stores yet.

same here. i bet they would snake the game you are looking for. im pretty sure thats what happened to me. eb does it.

Thanks for the replies. With the increasing gas prices in Cali, I don't think I want to take a 60 mile trip just to get a game for a few bucks less than I would on eBay.

Yeah, I've been looking around for Suikoden II for years. It always shows up in the middle of nowhere some 50+ miles away. Sometimes I wonder why I don't just give up and buy it off eBay.

Well...if anyone is in the Central Valley (Cali), here are the games that I planned on having GameStop ship to a location near me. Torneko, Alundra and Star Ocean: The Second Story are at my local GameStops, so I'll probably call to see if those are complete. But if anyone's interested...here ya go...

I've had a game transferred several times, though my most recent experience was not good. I had Gitaroo Man sent to my nearest store and an employee screwed me over and bought it and then lied about it ever being there. :twoguns:

I called and explained what happened, but I was told that they couldn't do anything about it. Honestly they just didn't care. I even know which employee was working the morning it came in. The guy tried to tell me that IF it had been there that it had "slipped through the cracks" and been sold. This was after he said that they had not received any shipments that day. This store had just recently fired several employees and the guy who took my game was new. It's a pain in the ass to have a game sent in the first place, but then to wait a week and not even get it...

that is bs. i have a hookup now at a gs near me, so if you are worried about something like that happening again, let me know and im sure i can hook you up. i wont do no wrong honest....

but really, it is a pisser. when i asked the dude to call one in cali to have a game sent, he was like "howd you find this". i told him where and he was stunned, moron doesnt even know the company website. i wonder if they drug test there. imagine the damage i could do.

Socheata, the Atlus website recently had Tail Concerto for $16 new. However, I just checked it again and it's OOS. Sorry bud, we coulda helped you if we'd known sooner. :whistle2:(

I'd keep checking though, seems like it was OOS for a while and then came back in. They also have Tactics Ogre for the GBA, but it's $44.

yeah ive never had problems with ebgames doing it. i was told however this past christmas they stopped using the comp system that allowed them to check the other area ebgames which was really helpful. now without that, looks like you gotta hope to get lucky.
