I got back into gaming in early '05 after a long absence. I purchased a GameCube as my sole console for a couple reasons: 1) Cheaper than the X-Box and PS2, 2) I started out with the old school NES as a kid so I was familiar with the Nintendo brand, 3) Mario/Zelda franchises.
Anyway. I've enjoyed the Cube, but have recently really gotten into RPGs. GameCube, as I'm sure you all know, is rather scantily clad when it comes to RPG titles. The PS2 is not.
I know the PS3 will be released soon and will be backwards compatible, but the rumored $500-$600 price tag is a little steep for my taste. While I enjoy gaming, I can't see myself sinking that much $$ into the console alone. I don't see myself buying a PS3 until it drops to at least $250. So, my question, do I buy a PS2 now or hold out for the PS3? If I do buy a PSP2 now, how hard is it going to be to find games 18 months - 2 years down the line?
