Should I buy the new Zelda game?

Today's the last day it's $45 (minus the $10 gift card) at CC.

The thing it, I don't play offline multiplayer a lot (no players handy, unfortunately) and if I ever got three more people to want to play I'm sure none of them would own a GBA.

So: is the game still worth it?

Especially since I read the game was supposed to be shipped bundled with another game (like in Japan) but wasn't.

It was supposed to be shipped with some puzzle game, Tetra's Trackers, which I hear wasn't very good.
Also, from what I hear, the game's not nearly as good without friends. I can't imagine it's too bad, though. Check reviews or something, maybe they'll help.

If you're a fan of the Zelda series, then yes. It's fun playing by yourself, but i heard it's way better with buddies. Not to mention it comes with a link cable [ and if you buy it from cc a $10 giftcard ].

I got it about 3-4 days ago and i'm having fun playing it by myself. My only gripe about it are the graphics [ crappy for a Cube game ] and that you don't get an inventory.

I guess it depends on how much you REALLY like Zelda, and more importantly, A Link to the Past. I'm having fun playing it solo, but since you start fresh with 4 hearts and no items after you clear every area, it gets a little tedious after just a few stages. It's still fun though, and I will most likely finish it in another few days.

Its a nice blend of LTTP graphics with some WW special effects. very nicely done. I'd say go for it. Unlike FF:CC, this doesnt feel broken when playing alone...it feels right. Its good old zelda with a few new twists.

this sounds like secret of mana, good alone, great with friends.

am i wrong? because if thats how it is sign me up!

can you play with controllers? playing games with gba's is dumb

This game is the same as the GBA version with better graphics and a new quest. This game could be done on GBA easily. IMO it should have been a value title at $30 or less like Pokemon channel or wario ware for GC. I don't think its even worth the sale prices right now. When its 20 in a year or 2 I will pick it up.

YTou are such an idiot for thinking that.

It could not have easily been done on the gbA, it's not the same, and is playable by 1 player, unlike the GBA game. There were more games included in the Japanese release, but you retarded american';s fear of anything you percieve as kiddy took that away.

Anyways, it will easily be better than the next gamecube zelda

Since you have obviously already played the new Zelda game I would like a brief synopsis.
[/sarcasm]

Graphics don't make a game, and while you may think the new Zelda looks terrible, I for one think it looks great, however, I'm not saying it is great because I haven't played it, and graphics mean nothing if the gameplay isn't there, and as evidenced by the 4 swords great games don't need to have great graphics.

I bought it. $35 for the game and a link cable looks like a good deal - it will probably be released in a year or more as a greatest hits title for $30 without a cable, if we're lucky.

Seriously, look at the prices of the Wind Waker, and Super Mario Sunshine. These are nintendo's flagship titles, and it's very rare that they're discounted.

Actually, playing it on a gba is great. Take this for example: You walk into a room, take a few steps and fall into a hole. The TV screen stays the same, but your gba (which normally says to look at the TV) now shows all the Links walking around in a sub-level.

Swithcing between Links is as easy as pressing select, and you use the L button to choose formation (for moving certain blocks). You need to switch between individual Links to throw another Link, or push blocks of a corresponding color.

TYhe new zelda game is all stupid and serious.

Serious ruins games. In link to the past his eyes bugged out all cartoon-like when he fell down pits or ran into walls. This will suck, just like OOT sucked. Seriousness and realism have no place in Zeldas

Don't you mean WindWaker? I didn't think the SNES was capable of such graphical achievements.

no, youre wrong, they did those in lttp.
maybe you should play it, its a great game ^^

I love getting flamed for stating my opinion like the topic creator asked for. Excuse me DFat for not agreeing with the majority.

Four Swords is mediocre solo. With at least 2 friends though, it is perhaps the most fun I have ever had while playing a game. You simultaneously work together and screw over your friends. And the secret ballot during the ranking is genius. If you can play it with friends, definitely, definitely get it. If not, wait till it is cheap.

I love the game multiplayer, but singleplayer its pretty boring.

Even if you just do two player its lots of fun, I'm dying to find someone with a GBA so we can go three-way though.

I love this game. As stated before it will probably be a $30 GH title. I got it at Circuit City for $44.99, link cable, and the $10 gift card. I'm playing with my son and it's a complete blast. Some of the best gaming moments I have had. It has all the little "Zelda" type details. It makes me wish they would do a whole single player 2-D Zelda game for the GC.

I'd say get it only if you have multiplayer. Some of the sequences are a little annoying and only fun if there's someone to bitch to. ;)

In all seriousness tho, it's a great game and I highly recommend it.

Can you beat it in one session while playing with friends or is it a pretty long game like most zeldas. My concern is that it might be too short.

its pretty long, all depending on how much you and your friends (if any) fool around. me and my friends spent an hour on just one puzzle, it could've been done in 10..

bread's done
