I even converted my father-in-law to SWITCH to PC from Mac a few years ago.
 That's some persuasive skills; converting a mac user is more difficult than getting a christian to believe in the all-consuming power of satan himself.
The Apple Store is a great idea, so you can mess around w/ one without worry. However, keep in mind that the employees are (1) guaranteed mac geeks, and (2) paid to make a sale. That's a deadly combination of persuasive pressure. As much as I love macs, I hate salespeople.
I'd go back over this thread and read people's points on why macs are good; i've never been a fan of trying to make a persuasive argument solely based on demeaning the opposition (MS), so I'd ignore that noise. If, after seeing the positives listed in this thread, you still think you'd like to get a mac, test drive one.
If not, then...go do something else. I dunno.
myke.
